Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

the flame confirmation thermocouple might need looking at biased on your description , this item sits inside a stainless steel metal tube that's about 1.5 inches long an is someplace around the edge of the heater , this item confirms that the main flame has lit and shuts off the pilot most times too . this is why I believe it is not working

Shorted Rectifier Diode (fuse keeps blowing)

jdvillanueva_14.jpg
This CRT tv is dead set, no reaction when the power button is pressed(no standby led light). I've open the back panel and check the faulty parts.
jdvillanueva_15.jpg

As you can see the fuse was badly burnt-out indication of excessive current due to short circuit.
jdvillanueva_17.jpg

I've checked the parts feeding the AC line to the power supply board (Power cord, VDR, Ceramic capacitor, Coil, Posistor, Degaussing coil) one by one and I've found out that one of the four rectifier diode has a leak which caused the glass fuse burnt-out.
Here's how to test the rectifier diode.

Good Diode
Note : Forward and reverse bias depend on what type of ohmmeter are you using, here I'm using a Japan Standard(Sanwa Brand).
jdvillanueva_21.jpg

Using an ohmmeter set it to X10 to see much easier the leak from the diode in reverse bias.

Forward Bias : test the diode by connecting the red test prod of the tester to anode and then the black test prod to cathode of diode. You will see the pointer will reads a faily low resistance(above picture).
jdvillanueva_22.jpg

Reverse Bias : test the diode by connecting the red test prod of the tester to cathode and then the black test prod to anode of diode. You will see at the picture(above) that the pointer didn't react (remains in infinity). This is a good diode.

Bad(leaky) Diode
jdvillanueva_23.jpg

Forward Bias will reads fairly low resistance.
jdvillanueva_24.jpg

Reverse bias unlike the good diode the pointer will also reads a fairly low resistance.

After confirming that the diode caused the fuse from blowing I've decided to replaced all four diodes since I have a lots in my stocks.
jdvillanueva_25.jpg

Remember that when you installing the new diode on the board, make sure that you will make it in the right polarity.

This steps is also applicable in the DVD Player,Flat panel, Projection, LCD TV, you have to disregard only the posistor and degaussing coil.

Have a nice day!
Thanks for using Fixya.

Why wont my lexmark 3300 printer not turn on?

Have you confirmed that the power source is pumping out the correct voltage/amps with a voltmeter, too? I'm assuming you meant that you verified the power outlet works?

Aiwa nsx nwvt99 donot power up always in stand by mode

This can be due to an error in the output which can protect the circuit and also it can be due to problems within the power section to the bias circuits. In all these cases if the processor trips off after a switch on then the fault needs a probe using a schematic so as to confirm the loss of voltage.
Remove speakers to test and also check in all source modes to confirm if the fault is related to just one source.

Sound clarity not good beause distrubing sound

It depends on how the sound is heard, if the sound is distorted then the amplifier section must be checked, It can be fault in the power output IC, fault of the bias or fault in the pre- amp section.
Secondly if the sound is jarring then the speakers needs to be checked, it can be problems on the diaphragms or coils.
You will also need to check or switch source of sound to confirm if this was from a source.
Also an AF signal test and injection will confirm the stage that is effected.

Bios password removed

hi to remove the password off the bias, u need to take the bias battery out of the motherboard or change the bias jumpers depending on the motherboard inside of the laptop.

Most motherboard manuals will show you how to do this. The bias battary normally works for all motherboards. You bias setting will reset so it should work.

PHILIPS VCR WILL NOT RECORD PICTURE, BUT SOUND QUALITY EXCELLENT

Provided that you have given a good confirmed signal into the VCR or is using the tuner to record. If so then the fault is within the VCR recording biasing of the signal. The rrecorrded signals ahve to eb written to the tapes after mixing up the spectrum of information that comes along. failure of theprocessing IC must be the fault to this and will require expert testing within the VCR for signal trace before we can pinpoint. I hope you will need expert help to confirm onthe head amp section/ video processing stages preferably with the manual in hand. Helpful to decide? Good day

Tascam MF-P01 recorder - hearing nothing during play back

Mine also would not play back on any of the channels but would record. The problem was on the lower board, capacitors C105, C205, C305 and C405, all are 220uF, rated at 10V - on a 9V machine! All four went leaky, which meant that the op-amps each were connected to got a bias which drove the output to 8.5V and no output.
I replaced all four capacitors with new ones rated at 25V and it works again!

Out of balance during wash

Ok you need to check your machine is level- if not adjust feet. You aslo need to check the Bias spring is still attached if not get a new one or re-attach it. The Bias spring is a little spring that connects from the top of the front left suspention rod to the top of the plastic bowl cover (this spring is meant to help stop it going out of balance so easy. Cheers
