First is your internet connection working Ok? If so then unplug and remove any software from your machine. Next plug it back in. It should act as a new install. Lucky you upgrade then should come up. actually who ever your new service provider will be ports the number for you. Just make certain to tell them you wish to "port an existing number from magic jack" and thats all you have to do!
I have a Magic Jack and it is plugged into my computer. I don't have to do anything to call a long distance call. Do you have the new one that does not need to be plugged into you computer? You do not need to have any other application running to use magic jack. I know you said something about outlook express and yahoo, but you do not need to have that open. All you need (if you are attached to a computer) is your computer running, magicjack running on your desktop, and an internet connection. I hope this helps you.
