If you are wanting to remove Yahoo Instant Messenger from your PC, all you have to do is go to Control Panel, and Uninstall Programs. Look for Yahoo Instant Messenger and click "uninstall." It will ask you if you're sure if that's what you want to do. Say 'yes' and proceed. Yahoo Instant Messenger will be removed from your system.

Turn off pop up blocker

Turn Off Pop-Up Blockers on My Computer
Surfing the Internet and constantly being bombarded with pop-up ads can be extremely annoying. For this reason, most computer users enable a pop-up blocker.
Occasionally, however, you run across a website that offers information that you need and it is blocked by the pop-up blocker.
When this happens you need to disable the pop-up blocker. You can disable the pop-up blocker for all websites or just for specific ones.

Launch Internet Explorer.
Click on the "Tools" drop-down menu.

Scroll down, click "Pop-up Blocker" and choose "Turn Off Pop-Up Blocker."
Turn off pop-ups for specific sites by completing steps 1 and 2.
Then, instead of choosing to turn off pop-ups, choose "Pop-Up Blocker Settings."
Add sites to block or remove sites from the list that are being blocked.
Turn Off Pop-Ups Blocker in Toolbars
Even though you may have your pop-ups turned off in Internet Explorer, if you have a toolbar installed on your computer it can still block pop-ups.
The most commonly installed toolbars are the Yahoo toolbar and Google toolbar.
Click on the drop-down menu next to the pop-up blocker button to disable the pop-up blocker in the Yahoo toolbar. Select "Disable pop-up blocker."
Click the "Options" button on the Google toolbar. In "Accessories," clear the box next to the pop-up blocker option.

How do i set up my yahoo email account archos 10.1 internet tablet

Glad to help YOU!

For your tablet, to get Yahoo! mail you have to activate POP setting; to activate pop on your Yahoo!Mail account you have to pay for it.
Now, if you once signed up for Yahoo! Mail Plus, add a new email account to your email program with the following POP and SMTP settings:

1. Yahoo! Mail POP server: plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com
2. POP port: 995
3. POP TLS/SSL: yes
4. POP user name: your Yahoo! ID
5. password: your password

1. Yahoo! Mail SMTP server: plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com
2. SMTP port: 465
3. SMTP TLS/SSL: yes
4. SMTP user name: your ID
5. SMTP password: your password

In case you will have some errors/problems having such settings you have to:

# Log in to Yahoo! Mail
# select OPTIONS > MAIL OPTIONS > go to POP/FORWARDING > choose VIEW POP on Yahoo!Mail Server.

Hope I was able to help you!

GOOD LUCK!

Unwanted yahoo service

This is not the forum for ranting. There is nothing we can do about this as we are not associated with yahoo. i unjderstand about hijacking your home page, many other sites and programs also do that.

As for pop ups, you can control them by electing to stop pop ups on yahoo.com in your browsers. I cannot under5stand what AVG coverage it took over. I use AVG and have 2 groups on yahoo site and don;t experience any problem with AVG being taken over or disabled. Try using some anti spy program and make sure your PC is not compromised with a trojan that is doing this.

I am using ubuntu linux operating system and when i open my yahoo mail account i keep getting blueithium and yeild manager pop ups in the middle of my screen it only seems to occur when im in my yahoo...

Joe, the Bluelithium and Yeild Manager pop-ups are advertisements that Yahoo let pop up on the screen when your on Yahoo email.

Here are the links to opt out of them:

Bluelithium

and

Yeild Manager

You can also remove the cookies with HijackThis. Download this program, close your browser and install. Run the program and once you get to the main menu, select scan and create log. This will scan your diskdrive for registry, cookies and other suspected objects. Look for the Bluelithium and Yeild Manager cookies, check them and click "fix selected." This will remove the cookies.

Hope this helps,
Bill

Yahoo search takes me to other sites

Remove yahoo search using add-remove programs. ITs junk anyways and gives you more pop ups anyways. just use the regular yahoo or add the home page as an extra home page so it open to it when you open explorer. ( IE7 + 8) allows multiple Home pages.

Just like google, yahoo tool bar is added clutter.

If you want it though, just remove it like I said and try re-installing it.
