bjsouth Most likely the problem with your dryer is bad motor. It is not repairable and has to be replaced. If you feel you can do it yourself, let me know and I'll help to buy new motor and provide you with instructions how to replace it. Gendos...post back

The motor is weak and needs replaced, don't hold the start button too long or you may smoke the motor's thermal protection and it could get smokey and stinky. Make sure you can get the blower wheel off before you make a run for parts, sometimes you have to break them off the shaft. : (

There is a reset (overheat) button in the back of the dryer. My manual states that this switches off the tumbler if the temperature is too high... need to clean the filter and reset the switch by pressing the rubber disc on the back of the machine.
However, this issue was just the beginning of my problems with the T7005... have had the switch replaced, rollers replaced and now being advised that the motor needs replaced too. Although the Asko marketing quotes a "20 year" lifespan, mine is at 10 years now. Probably will choose another Asko as my cabinetry is built around these machines. Good luck!

This is a situation that you need to be very careful with. It sounds like you have a grounded heating element. If this is the case, then the current can be running through the dryer's frame and can cause electrical shock. Keep the dryer unplugged and check the heating element for continuity. If it has none, replace the heating element. BE CAREFUL. Hope this helped and best wishes.
