Shine a flash light into it to see if there is an image and that you have not just lost your backlights on the screen . apples newest units are having backlight problems.

My first generation iPad appears to be totally dead. When I plug it into charge all I see is the flashing Apple. Is there a way to get the system going again ?

The battery in it has most likely expired and may cost more than a new iPad to replace. A voltmeter across the charger or a friends iPad may be useful to test your charger works ok.

How to down load free iOS 7 tommymipod?

This all depends on which iPod you have ....
IOS7 is only compatible with:
  • iPhone 4
  • iPhone 4S
  • iPhone 5
  • iPad 2
  • 3rd generation iPad with Retina
  • 4th generation iPad with Retina
  • iPad Mini
  • 5th generation iPod touch
  • So if you do not have one of these you cannot install IOS7.

Apple i-pad air boots up to a larger screen, the touch icons are hard to move.

    Hi Julie
If by larger screen, you mean Zoomed screen, it could be that you have turned on zoom in Settings / Accessability.
Also.... the iPad is "booted up" all the time. Generally all you are doing is Waking the iPad from sleep or screen in sleep mode.
To ReBoot your iPad (worth doing every month or so) First quit all Apps by double clicking round button and individually swipe each open App upward to shut the App down. When all apps are turned off, Hold the Top button & Round Button in together for about 5-10 seconds. This will shut the iPad down completely. When all off, Press the top button in for about 5 seconds. You will see the Apple logo while it ReBoots. This usually fixes any minor glitches etc in the Apps. If a particular App is giving problems, you can hold your finger down on it till the X shows in the LH Top of its icon. Click this and it will be wiped off your iPad. Then re download it for free through the App Store and check to see if problem has gone.

    Hope this proves useful.

How to reboot an iPad, a video clip is stuck on running

Rebooting is easy. It is called a hard reboot. Just hold both buttons down until you see a red slider, and then slide it to shut down. It will restart, and you will see the Apple logo.

Facebook comes on then goes out

This is usually a memory error. You may have too many apps open and need to close them.

Double click the home button to bring up all the open apps on your iPad. They will list in a line across the bottom of the screen. If you are on iOS7 or later you simply swipe the screen shot of the app upwards to close the app completely. Then go back to your home screen and open the app as you normally do. This should force the app to reboot and work as intended.

After closing all the apps you should then shut down the iPad completely. You can do this by holding the sleep button on the top edge for about 5 or more seconds. You will then see a slider on the touchscreen pop up that indicates you can shut down the device. After it is completely shut down, count to 10 and then press and hold the same sleep button on the top edge for 5 or more seconds to reboot the iPad. You can also plug it into your computer or charger at this point to force the iPad to turn on.

Hope you can help. My spacebar is missing on my 1st generation but only when I want to type into the address bar of Safari, every where else it seems ok.

Very strange problem. Never heard of this before. Have you updated to the latest iOS? That would be my first suggestion. You may also want to try completely closing Safari and then reopen. You can close down an app by double clicking the home button and then either press and hold on the app till it 'shakes' (iOS6) or simple swipe upwards (iOS7).
If that doesnt work you can try shutting down the entire iPad by pressing and holding the top button for more than 3 seconds. The swipe the red bar that says shut down. Then count to 10 and press and hold the top button again to turn back on the iPad.
If all that fails you can try restoring from an old backup from your computer (backups usually happen when you sync physically with your computer or if you have auto backup over wifi enabled)

My Ipad Mini keeps shutting off automatically, then turns back on. When the home screen is shown it just keeps glitching and shutting off. Whats wrong with it?

I would first try doing a hard reset. Hold the home and power button down simultaneously until the iPad completely turns off and the Apple logo appears. You can ignore the slide to turn off button when it appears.
If that doesn't solve the issue I would make an appointment with your local Apple Store and have the device checked out by an Apple Genius.
    Hope that helps!
