Re: screen goes blank

Does it flicker or just go black with the light flashing? Does it go back on again by itself? As of now, I suspect the video card is at fault without further details about the problem. Let me know

if the case is that whenever you turn on the computer it presents to you options on how to turn on your computer, safe mode, safe mode with command prompt, start up windows normally and other options of such.

if you select any and it goes blank, and comes up with a screen showing windows driver error occurred.

try to format the system and reinstall the operating system again.

When i shut my laptop the tv i use as my monitor goes blank.

Right click the power icon in the system tray (should look like a little plug with a lightning bolt on it.)  Click on "adjust power properties."  Click on the "advanced" tab, then where it says, "When I close the lid of my portable computer," select "Do Nothing."
