It depends on wat type of machines some you cannot do at all, coz if you look to the cartridge it self it has this small metal cover this wat let your machine detect if its orginal or not. some you can cheat them other no.

The black ink cannot be read by the printer

It is common for non-genuine cartridges to be refused by Epson copiers when they get a bit low on ink. Other times the generic cartridges are fine, it is a bit of a lottery.

Before deciding on any other causes, try a new genuine Epson ink replacement, as a diagnostic method (I have no connection with Epson BTW)

Epsom sx100 keeps saying cartridges are not compatatble but are using epsom inks

If you have Genuine Epson cartridges and they do not work, call Epson Tech Support. You have to be patient [they're in India] and you may have to ask to speak to someone in the US if you're getting nowhere with TS.

My friend had a problem of his printer, cause the printer didnt recognize the ink... it has 6 colors epson ink. we dont know how to fix it... all the cartrige shows x

Is your friend use CISS. If so
Move Ink cartrige holder to cartrige change station.
Put off cartrige ( genuin or CISS) from carrage
Take a soft erager try to remove dry in or dust or waste everything smothly
reassemble the cartrige again
push top of the cartrige gentaly sothat it struck acurately.
Turn on printer.
I think you will get rid from your pprinter problem.
Thank you

At a guess you've bought a compatible generic cartrige. I had a similar problem different printer.

I had to by a genuine cartrige, worked fine. Contacted the generic cartrige provider, explained the problem. Returned cartriges and got refund no problem.

It looks like the generic cartrige makers are seeing some solutions to chipped cartridges but not all.

Epsom photo r200 ink issues

Unfortunately no there is not. However, when those are refilled the kill chips should be reset and the cartridge should function same as new. If you are not getting this result I would not buy ink from that supplier anymore. Cartridge World 100% guarantees their cartridges and will always reset the chips.

Printing with generic cartridges

Lexmark International does not recommend the use of third party inks or inkjet cartridge refill kits. Genuine Lexmark inks and cartridges are perfectly matched to the printing system. Using genuine Lexmark ink and cartridges ensures that every document produced is of the highest possible print quality, providing long-term dependable service from your Lexmark printer.

Lexmark cannot assure the excellent print quality and reliability of its inkjet cartridges after a cartridge has been refilled. Using incompatible inks in an attempt to extend the life of a genuine Lexmark cartridge beyond its recommended usage can cause failures in several different areas of the printer. Inkjet cartridges and printer failures caused by refilling or a third party ink are not covered by your Lexmark printer Warranty, Extended Warranty or Service Agreement.

Please use genuine Lexmark cartridges for best results.
