It is protecting itself against further damage.
Remove the radio and disconnect the speakers. Power on the radio and see if it works properly.
Your fault may lie in a broken/grounded speaker wire, or a blown coil on a speaker.
There is no "override" to disable the protection.

It is common to have a short circuit on the back panel. Check if there is any stray speaker wiring touching anything, including the chassis, other than the binding post it is supposed to be firmly connected to. Also check for any loose plugs or plugs from another electronic component that just might be touching the receiver anywhere. Then, hold down the power button of the receiver until it "clicks." If that doesn't solve the problem then it needs service.

It dont turn on. theres red light flashing. is like in protection or something, it last a few seconds and then turn off.thanks for your cooperation

If you have done a reset by holding down speaker a and b buttons while plugging in. Hold buttons for a few seconds then release. If goes back to protect mode then you have a shorted output channel. Most repair shops will charge from 150-200 for repair, there is a lot of parts you have to replace on this model.

When swicth on, it goes out after writing protect, can i do anything?

It goes into protect mode when it senses something wrong. First check the speaker wires for shorts or diconnect them as a test. Turn it on, if still in protect mode, the problem is internal and needs to be looked at by a tech/repair shop.

Overload issue

There is a problem in the front end that is allowing some DC curent to flow to the output section. This is detected and the amp goes into protect mode to prevent further damage to either the output section or the speakers. This is likely to be defective coupling capacitors and not an expensive repair. Figure on less than $20 for parts for this repair.

My Sony XMGTR2022 goes into protect mode at

I discovered that there is a compatiblilty problem between the Bose receiver and the Sony amplifier. If I disconnect the receiver from the amp then the amp starts up normally. Apparently the receiver sends out a dc offset or a "thump" that the amplifier doesn't like and goes into protection mode. I solved the problem by putting a 1 second delay circuit between the receiver startup and the amplifier startup. A simple RC delay on the remote input to the amplifier solved the problem.

Amp comes on and goes right into protection mode

Turn the reciever on for a second or two and then off before the protect mode shows up on the monitor. Repeat this step about five times and check to see if the reciever does not go into protect mode. If it does go into protect mode try it again. Dont know if this is the proper way to fix the reciever but it worked for me. Good Luck

Protection mode after about 3 seconds

The protection is most likely being triggered by an internal fault. Typically the power amp section. The receiver will need professional service.
