When I push the button on my american standard jacuzzi tub I hear the hum of the motor but jets don't come on

In my case I took the motor out and used a screw driver to turn the impeller in the front of the pump and the fins inthe back. Put it back together and it worked. I then used 2 tablesoons of dishwashing detergent and 1/2 cup bleach and ran it for 20 minutes to clean and degrease the impellers

I have the 7-184948-22 1 hp Got home to day (very hot ) motor was triped off. Reset and now it just hums, locked up. Any hope? It's about 3 years old

Turn off the power at the breaker, then reach in to the impeller and see if it will turn freely. If it does you probably only need to replace the capacitor. If it will not turn freely you'll have to remove the motor end by unscrewing the large ring that holds the motor to the wet end. Remove the small screws that hold the diffuser cover and inspect the impeller and impeller ring, sometimes known as an impeller weir or floating eye seal.
Even if you have to replace the motor this pump is worth saving if there is no damage to other components. Note: Replacement motors are easy to find, I favor Magnatek / A. O. Smith motors but any brand such as Emerson or other will do. Jacuzzi parts though are getting increasingly hard to come about.

High speed on pump motor just hums then trips breaker. low speed works fine.

possibly trying to draw more power than the breaker and wiring are rated for.. check maximum amperage draw from motor, then check breaker.

If breaker is rated lower than High speed amperage draw, then have a qualified electrician install proper size of wiring and breaker.

If not, then the high speed coil of motor may be defective, check for warranty of unit.

I HAVE A MAGNUM FORCE PUMP. iT WAS RUNNING THIS

It could be the capacitor again, but most likely if it stopped while running, its not that, unless you had a brief power failure. The motor may have a built in thermal overload which turned the pump off. If it only humms then it could either be locked up by something in the impller, or could be the bearings in the motor have failed. If the motor doesn't smell "burnt" then you might stand a change to disassemble the pump. Disassemble the motor and replace bearings. Replace the mechanical seal while you have it apart. OR you could buy a new motor, as it is 10 years old.

Pool pumps are on a circuit breaker. There should be one nearby. Check the breaker first. If the switch is halfway on, it has been tripped. Turn the breaker all the way off firmly and then back on to reset.
Also there is a thermal breaker in the pump. Turn the breaker off and wait a few minutes. It should reset as well.
Also, if you get alot of debris in the leaf basket of your pump (mine is very tempermental because it's next to a small needled deadora tree...) Pull the leaf basket, with the pump and breaker off, reach into the inlet of the pump...it's below the basket and off to one side. Make sure it's clear of debris.
Then take the cap off the the electric motor end of your pump shaft. If it's jammed, take a crescent wrench and turn it back and forth until it frees up. Then double check the inlet again with your fingers.
If the pump still has electrical and it's not able to turn, you'll need to take the motor off the pump ...there are 6 bolts that you need to remove and then the motor with the impeller will come loose from the pump housing. There a 2 small allen screws to remove to take the impeller housing off. you can then clean all the debris out of the pump if needed.
IF there is not electrical to your pump motor, it may be that the motor has burned out, but check all the above first if there's still a hum in your motor when you turn it on....
Good luck on this and let us know if you need further help!

Motor hums then throws breaker

More than likley it is a starting capacitor in the back of the motor. With the breaker off remove the back of the motor and remove the clamp on the capacitor use a rag or wear gloves as the capacitor may have leaked. If it smells burnt or is leaking it is probally bad and needs to be replaced, Replace it with an exact duplacate. If this dosen't fix the problem then it is probally a winding problem and you will need to replace the motor but the capicator at twenty to fourty dollars is worth a try first.

Pump does not turn on except for a humming sound and shuts off jumping the electric breaker

This could be anything from a stuck impeller to bad windings in motor. If you open the pump at the lock ring and remove the difusser from the impeller you can see if you can spin the impeller, If it won't move is it something holding the impeller up remove it. If notit is probally a bad bearing and you should replace the motor. If the Impeller turns try turning it on and caerfully try to spin before it kicks the breaker. If it is sort of stuck and does not want to turn the motor is bad and needs to be replaced. If it spins and won't start same thing, If it spins and starts it is probally a start capicator. Shut the power off at the breaker remove the back of the motor the capacitor will be a small black or silver cylinder with 2 or 3 wires clipped to it. Remove this and take it to a motor shop and get an exact duplicate. and that should fix it. When putting back together be sure to lube all "O"rings and refill with water. Hope this helps.

Motor hums then clicks off

Has the motor seemed a little slower in starting than usual? If so then you probably have a weak or defective motor capacitor. Try switching out with a new one. They are inexpensive.Try to turn the motor shaft at rear (under end cap) while it attempts to start. If the motor kicks on then replace capacitor.

Bath tub spa will not shut off

If you haven't done this already. I would search your breaker panel for a circut breaker titled jacuzzi tub (or something to that effect), and if it is not listed I would get someone to monitor when the tub shuts off, while you flip each breaker off, one at a time so as to determine which breaker it is and then immediately title it.
Next, an access panel to the tubs motor should be installed. After access is gained, inspect the pumps receptacle and if it is not GFIC protected I would return to the breaker panel, it may have a GFIC breaker. If neither are the case, then have this issue repaired
The button on your jacuzzi is air actuated with a flexible air line that connects to the actual switch, it may have broken or however became disconnected.

Any questions, feel free... Good luck...
