Dvd players cause red color shift in tv (by 2 users)

1995 Panasonic 20" VCR combo color is fine for TV or VCR viewing. But hook up a DVD player and the color slowly cycles from normal to very reddish and back to normal about every 10 seconds. Tried 2 DVD players, same effect. any suggestions?
