Go into device manager (control panel, system, hardware, device manager). Under network connections, right click your network interface card and select uninstall. Reboot the computer and it will automatically reinstall.

Hi sir

if you want to physically remove the NIC network interface card
you will have to open the computer.
the best way to check the functionality of the
network interface card without removing is to

click on START --->RUN-->now type PING 127.0.0.1 -t in the box and click OK

this will give you some information.
if you see that the packets sent were 4 ,recieved are 4 then your network interface card is perfectly okay.

you just need to go to the device manager by following
START-->RUN-->now type DEVMGMT.MSC and click OK

in the device manager you need to do a right click on the network interface card optionn and uninstall it
restart the computer
it will either reinstall the drivers by detecting the card
or you need to install it using the disk

My LAN connection from my Dlink wireless router does not work with my computer? It does work when I bypass the router.

Some ISPs (Internet Service Providers) require you to "register" the 12-character MAC-address of a network device, such as the router's WAN interface, or the computer's network interface, before you can use the ISP's network.

Telephone your ISP, and ask them for "support".

I have no internet connection and the little light on the card does not come on

The simplest thing to try first is making sure your network cable is firmly connected at both ends. Sometimes a poor connection is all that is wrong. You can try plugging the cable in to another computer. This will show you if the trouble is in your computer or the external connections.

If the cord is plugged in, you may have a bad cable, the interface card may have gone bad, or the modem or router the cable is plugged in to may have a problem. The light on the interface card won't come on if it's not communicating with something at the other end.

Some people have a simple modem to connect to the service provider (ISP), and it will have only two jacks on the back: one for the connection to the outside network and one for your computer. You may have a modem/router combination which typically has four jacks on the rear for wired computers. This is what most ISPs supply now when you get service. Or you might have a separate modem and router. This is common if you got a simple modem from the ISP and added your own router to hook up extra computers. Are the indicator lights correct on your modem and/or router, showing that they are getting the proper power and that you have a working network connection?

If the modem/router seem to be working, try another cable. They're not expensive if you need to buy one for testing, and you can probably borrow one from another computer in your home or office, or from a friend.

If the problem is the interface card in the computer, that's easy to fix. You can either replace the card, which is just a matter of unplugging the bad one and installing the replacement, or you can get a USB network adapter and not even need to open the computer case. You can leave the bad card in the computer if it's not causing any other problems.

It's a pain to figure out where the trouble is when you have several parts in the chain and don't know which is responsible, but you should be back online soon. Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!

GET A MESSAGE: NO INTERNET CONNECTION DETECTED

Check the network interface card where the RG45 network cable plugs in, and verify that both the amber and green lights are on. One normally flashes the other stays lit. If not? Check the router/switch/modem for light activity where the same cable is plugged into. Also try uninstalling and reinstalling the network interface card device in Device manager. Reboot after doing so to see if that fixes your problem

You need to go into device manager (control panel, system, hardware, device manager). Under Network, highlight your network interface card, right click and select uninstall. Once it's uninstalled, reboot your computer and it will automatically install it again.

My gateway gt5432 wireless interface is not working

Go into the device manager and uninstall (right click and choose uninstall) the network card, reinstall it by chooseing actions, scan for hardware changes (in the device manager). Its an Ip address conflict probably. or open a command screen by typing cmd in the run dialog and then type ipconfig at the curser. See if you have an Ip address, if not type in ipconfig "space" /renew. This will give your computer a new ip addy. Good Luck!
