Question about Whirlpool GSC9455 Top Load Washer
I have a front loading whirlpool washing machine. I first noticed the problem, because my machine wouldn't make it through the rinse cycle. I kept getting alot of sandy looking stuff out of my filter. Then the water wouldn't pump out of the machine. My husband and I somehow were able to get the machine to drain, but now it has started smoking when it gets to the fastest part of the spin cycle. The entire drum fills with smoke! I won't let it get all the way through the cycle, so I don't know if the machine will shut off or just continue. When I look in the window it looks as if the drum is off center and it is rubbing against the rubber seal. The seal itself looks fine. (not torn or broken.)
Switch it off before you burn your house down
The drum support sounds to have either cracked or come loose allowing the drum to run on the door gasket
The friction will cause the rubber to melt and burn hence the smoke.
