Question about Acer Aspire 5610-4648 Notebook

1 Answer

Blue Screen Hey.. Yesterday i bought a new Acer Aspire 5520, but tonight it suddenly turned into a blue screen.. And it wrote in old MS-dos style, something about initializing memory dumb, i can't remember exacly what it wrote.. I've tried to reboot the computer, but it seems like after it has been turned on for a short time, ill do the exact same thing over again, cause everytime i reboot, i can only get to the log on part, before it does the same thing over again.. I have tried to start the computer in safe mode, but i will do the blue screen anyway..I hope this is a problem that you've seen before, so you got an quick and easy solution..

Re: Blue Screen

Not good. You should return it immediately. Once you open it up, there is no more warranty. Memory dumps are usually caused by either a hardware problem or by corrupt or outdated system files. If there is no warranty, it has to be opened up and the connections checked. Could have been caused by a fall but it probably is a bad contact inside. If for some reason you cannot return it or there is no warranty, contact me again and I will help you through the procedure.

Blue screen

This seems to be an Operating system issue , best way to resolve this is by Re-Installing the Operating system which will wipe everything in the laptop Hard disc, At the Acer splash screen, you can press Alt and F10 to bring up a DOS style version of eRecovery. The unit is able to reload Windows from this mode faster then from CD. If the hard drive is replaced the system loses its eRecovery features. These features are on the hard drive and cannot be reinstalled

Upon booting gets a blue screen and nothing else, Acer Aspire 1... What can I do to recover?

Acer eRecovery

At the Acer splash screen, you can press Alt and F10 (at the same time you would press F2 to enter the BIOS) to bring up a DOS style version of eRecovery.
· The unit is able to reload Windows from this mode faster then from CD.
· The password by default is 000000 (6 zeros) and it is displayed when you are asked for the password.
· Users are able to change the password in this mode for eRecovery only.
· The system can recover from the hidden image on the hard drive (PQService partition) or from CD/DVD media.
· It is possible to reload from the factory style CDs/DVD or the snapshots that the Windows version of eRecovery creates.

Aspire 5520-5912 does not start ,shows only blue screen

Try to get into safe mode by pressing F8 when you first turn onto your computer. Choose safe mode. If you can get into safe mode. Try doing a system restore back to the last date the computer was last working properly.

If you can't get into safe mode then you'll need to wipe out your hard drive and get your system back to factory defaults. You probably have corrupt system files that are causing these problems.
