Unlikely area for the smell to come from since with the unit off, there is no action in this area. Most likely cause of your smell: Residue in drain pan of freezer evap area. Remove panel in back of freezer section while unit is unplugged and clean drain and surrounding areas. Use a high concentration of bleach water and let unit air out completely after this. At some point in time, meat or related substance in your ref/freezer leaked and odor is caused by this as the unit was thawed. Use the product ICE AIDE, available at sears or by an A&E tech to continue to freshen your unit for 6 months. IF meat or some sort of undesirable juice dripped into the ice or door water dispenser, you can take this apart and clean as needed following your parts breakdown at www.searspartsdirect.com after you enter your model number off of the appliance. Make sure you work with an unpowered appliance.

Yes the grill pops out. It snaps in to place. Behind there is a Carbon Filter, and cannot be washed. The internet says the should be changed every 3 to 6 months, yet we use our microwave once a week and change mine every 9 months.
The carbon filter elimiates smoke, odors and grease build up on cabinets and walls.
Hi, from what you describe, it sounds like you may have incomplete combustion, which would leave a residual odor while burning. Check your vent, on the outside where the flap opens and the exhaust leaves the building. Anything blocking that vent may cause an air flow problem. If you have good air flow when the dryer is running, the problem is going to be at the gas valve/burner and may need a professional. In my town, the gas company will come out and check problems like this for no charge, they don't replace parts but are good at troubleshooting. Best of luck.
Regular cleaning maintenance is required to prevent odor build up inside the machine. The LG WM2688HWM has a TUB CLEAN feature, a special cycle for the cleaning of the inside of the washer. This cycle uses a high water level with higher spin speed.
Remove any clothing or items from the washer and close the door.
Open the dispenser drawer and add liquid chlorine bleach ONLY to the bleach compartment.
Close the dispenser drawer slowly to prevent the bleach from spilling.
Turn on the machine then press the EXTRA RINSE button for 3 seconds.
Press the START/PAUSE button to start.
Leave the door open to dry the washer door opening, door seal and door glass after the cycle is complete.
The odor is coming from your drain pan under your evap coil. This is very ahrd to get to. They make a product that you can set in you fridge and let it run and it will take out odors. Google Refrigerator odors and it will take you the site that will ahve the product. rus
Clean it with a bleach solution and leave the doors open for several days. (out in the sunshine if possible). You can try putting a bowl of plain charcoal (not the match-lite kind) and letting it run empty with only the charcoal for a week or 2. If anything got into the insulation you are out of luck. Even the plastic liner will absorb odors and become difficult if not impossible to remove. Eric
glisten and affreash is the cleaning agents
besides this only way to get smell out is a complete inner and outter tub job but also try leaving both soap dispenser and door open for the air to dry up and vent the washing machine
There should be a manual shut off switch for the doors. shut off the power to the doors then manual open it. you should be able to overcome any debris in the track. then you can clean it out. it the door is locked and won't unlock, the fuel door may be open or cracked open enough to not allow the door to unlock. there is a lever or switch that prevents the door from opening when the fuel door is open.
The Duet has a filter trap that's pretty easy to clean. There could be debris catching residue and not allowing the washer to drain right. Remove the toe panel with a torx bit and turn the filter handlt to the left. Have towels handy because there is always a gallon or two of water left in washers after they drain! Cleaning the filter trap should be regarded as regular preventive maintenance.
Leaving the door open will actually make the problem worse because it dries out the odor-causing residue and makes it much harder to remove. If your washer stinks with the door open or shut it's time for a good cleaning before it gets worse! The area of heaviest buildup is always between the inner stainless tub and the outer plastic tub. After your washer has been cleaned you'll need to change your washing habits so odor doesn't return. If this doesn't remove bad odor you'll need a good washer cleaner.
