Put in fresh batteries. You have to pair the querty side of the remote again. Go up to your samsung smart TV 8 inches or less to pair. Press SYM and TAB at the same time. You should notice on the querty screen that states "Pairing." Your TV should confirm. The keyboard will load up when you press a key. Follow information on TV screen. Some applications like Netflix do not work with the remote. You can use your Querty side when you press on an app. Scroll to any app. If a screen pops up like for web browsing just type like a keyboard.
You should be able to check the function keys (F1-F12) and one of them should have a little symbol, it will look like a sun (circle with lines radiating out from the circumference) and a little up arrow, it will probably be right next to one with the sun and a little down arrow. Press the "Fn" key (right next to the left windows key) and hold it down, then tap the "sun up" key. That will raise your brightness.
If you want to raise it permanently, go into the Power Control Options in the Control Panel and find the setting for screen brightness.
Normally, on the keyboard of your netbook, there is a "Fn" key next to the bottom left "Ctrl" key.
after you finish booting up and have the screen veiw, press and hold the "Fn" key, then at the top there are a row of "F' keys, usually the F6 key is the key you would press to increase the brightness of your display. Each time you press the key the brightness should increase, if you press it pass the maximum brightness it will go back to a low brightness and then increase in brightness each time you press the "F6" key.
Remember, you have to hold down the "Fn" key as you press and release the "F6" key.
Do the following
To adjust the LCD brightness press the Fn + (Up) key combination or the Fn + (Down) key combination.

1. Turn the computer on and press the F2 key when the SAMSUNG logo appears on the screen to enter the BIOS Setup.
2. Select the Boot menu and set the Brightness Mode Control item to User Control.
3. Press the F10 key to save the settings and exit Setup.
