I did buy my nikon d40x just today, went to do my first shoot and my camera wouldnt work. When you go to take a shot the shutter closes and then and error comes up and says press shutter button again to release.
Do you want help me please ?

-   I have got absolutely the same problem, after certain amount of shots it says ERROR! Please press the shutter button again.. Peanuts! Brand spankin' new camera already -   Guest

-   I brought my Nikon D40x Digital Camera today, put in a fully charged battery, turn the camers on and got the following messgae ERROR -E-, and the battery indicator was blinking showing it was not fully charged. Any ideas?-   Dog1

It is a technical problem in the hardware of the camera which has to be fixed by a technician.
I just fixed this problem two days ago.
