My Kodak 650H slide projector carousel won't advance?

Chances are what you need is a new cycle solenoid LINK. They can be purchased from: They should have instructions to help you install the new part, as well. Good Luck!!

Kodak 650H projector - will cycle when the button is pushed to advance, but doesn't stop when the shutter is open. Rather it seems to keep moving until the shutter is in the closed position. The slides...

Sounds like a timing problem to me.... There is an adjustment you can make, but it's a "trial & error" fix: you have to make an adjustment one way or the other in the camstack, and then see if it's worse or better (relative to a correct slide cycle). This adjustment is made with the projector upside-down with the bottom cover removed. Check out the attached picture for more detail on where & how to make the adjustment.

If the projector is indeed a Carousel 650H, then the chances are that the LINK that connects the cycle solenoid plunger to the cycle lever has broken/cracked. This LINK is made of plastic, and over time the plasticizers that keep it flexible evaporate into the atmosphere, leaving the part brittle. The good news is that while Kodak no longer stcks parts for any slide projector, the company that purchased their repair parts is: This is not an easy repair, but once the part is replaced it will last a very long time! To purchase the part, contact micro-tools. I believe they have specific directions for making this repair, if you feel you can do it. If not, contact an authorized repair center to make the repair for you. Good Luck!

I have a Kodak 650H carousel slide projector and it won't stop advancing the slides unless you turn it off. Will the answer for the 4600 work on this type also?

The answer for the 2 machines is similar, but the repair is different. The clutch contact wire on the 650H has burned through the clutch contact. If it has just worn a notch in the clutch contact, you can bend the contact wire slightly to get it away from the notch. If the tip of the contact wire is burned off, you will be better off buying a used slide projector from someone, as parts for this generation of machines are long gone.
For the 4600 the problem is the same but the parts look different. Refer to the attached diagram for detail. The wire must rest at the center of the pad. You can use this diagram to roughly locate the similar parts in your 650H. Good Luck !!

Just bought a kodak 650H slide projector and i put a tray with slides on the projector but it doesn't lock in or advance.

Chances are the projector you bought needs a slide change solenoid link or at the very least, an adjustment to the timing of the slide changing mechanism.

We have a Kodak Carousel 650A projector. (140 slide carousel) Cannot advance the slides using the remote or the select bar. Putting in the individual slides with the carousel off the select bar will eject...

The purpose of the "SELECT BAR" on a Carousel 650H is to eject the slide. If you press & hold the select bar it allows you to rotate the tray to the slide you want (or Zero & remove the tray). If you can not advance or reverse the slide tray using either the remote buttons or the buttons on the side of the projector, then chances are you have a broken part in the slide change mechanism. The possibilities are numerous, and really requires a trained tech to analyze your specific failure. Sorry the news isn't better (or simpler!).

Kodak 650H projector - won't advance. Hadn't used several years. Set up and it worked, then started advancing without me pushing a button, then just stopped advancing. I hear a little click when I push...

The wire is probably from the circuit board or the motor. The location of the wire may vary depending on the age of the projector.

But the problem you have sound like a broken solenoid "Link". The "link" connects the cycle solenoid plunger to the cycle lever in the slide change mechanism. The "link" is made of plastic and over time gets brittle & cracks. Once this happens, you will hear the noise of the cycle solenoid engaging (click), but nothing will happen. The good news is parts are still available ( This is not an easy repair, and I would recommend contacting a factory-trained repair dealer.

Projector broke

Given the age of the projector, chances are the cause of the problem is a broken "Link". The "link" connects the cycle solenoid plunger to the slide change mechanism. The "link" is made of plastic, and over time it gets brittle & cracks, rendering slide change non-functional. Parts are still available (, but this is an involved repair that requires dis-assembly & a service manual - - best left to a factory-trained repair dealer.

Network speed.

the speed of the network adaptor is 100mps but the system speed is constrained by the maximum speed that your broadband provider.

What is the rated speed of the internet connection to your home? this will be the limiting factor.
