Down on the left side of the engine is a little switch use an ohm meter to see if it is making when you try to start itr. Some times they get loose or the female wire clip gets loose.GOOD LUCK....

Changed battery now wont turn over.

gday there have you cleaned the earth lead and positive lead on the ones going to the battery if you have then have you checked that your new battery has charge in it between 13 to 14.2 volts as some batteries do not come charged or if it is a acid type battery it may not have acid in it ,you probably would have checked this already but just a thought my end ,if all is good there did you accidently put the terminals on wrong for a second if you made a mistake like that the fuse may have blown ,easy done,if not check with a multimeter from your battery back to your starter soliniod and if all good there then check back from that .hope this helps cheers

2005 honda civic VP bad starter replaced still engine not turning over

Check the ground connection on the battery and the frame. Make.sure the battery posts are clean and free from corrosion. Most likely it's the ground on the frame

John Deere LA140 won't turn. New battery. No sound when I turn the key. No headlights, what should I do?

Check your connections at the battery. May have a bad ground or bad battery connection. Also check to make sure new battery is good by supplementing with a jump start. If new battery is good and connections are solid, you most likely have a broken wire somewhere. The lights may only work with the mower running though. I believe on my LA105 the lights only come on with the engine running and dim/brighten with the RPM of the engine.

1993 Honda accord, the battery is good but when i try to start it it wont turn over. The alternator is good and all my fuses are good, why wont it turn over? Should i get a new starter?

To begin with, turning over means different things to different people.
Does the engine crank but not start, or not crank at all ?
If it cranks but does not start, Honda cars are known to have weak fuel pump relays which would need to be tested.

Thought starter was bad replaced it still won't start. Acts like not enough power to turn it ovef

If your engine is stock, it sounds like a cell shorting in your battery. Take the battery to an automotive parts house and ask them to load test it for you. Sometimes a battery will appear good and seem to have a lot of "juice" in it but when you put a load on it, a cell will short out making the battery effectively a 10 volt (or less) battery. It will smoke your battery cables too. If it is a new battery, it may just not have enough cold cranking amp (CCA) to turn your engine.

Check your connections on the starter and the ground connection at the frame. Also there is a large braided ******** the underside of your bike to connect the engine and transmission together for a good ground if your Road King is one of the earlier models.

To check for an engine problem, take your spark plugs out and see how the engine turns over. If it turns freely, the engine is not the problem.

Good Luck

The motor acts like it is stuck. it has new batteries and new starter, changed the oil, new fuel filter, and when i turn the key the motor turned over about 2 revolutions and now it just wont turn anymore....

The first thing i would do is try turning over the engine by hand making sure the engine itself is not seized. if it turns over by hand check to make sure your getting 12 volts down at the starter. sometimes starter cable gets corroded causing slow or even no start. if thats good, check to make sure you have a good ground from your batteries to your engine. your starter gets its ground from its case which is mounted to the engine. if the engine isnt grounded you wont have a complete circuit.

Cleaned complete machine now wont start

the starter itself should ground to the engine and the engine should ground to the battery you should trace back the ground lead from the battery to the engine if that is good use a light tester or volt meter to check your hot wire to the starter and your other hot wire from the solenoid to the switch to the battery although that should be good if you can jump it at the terminals if nothing else you can always connect a new hot wire from the switch to the solenoid if that doesn't work replace the solenoid itself
