Connecting computer to Element flx-3211b via HDMI not working

I had the same issue with this TV in my hotel room. I set the FLX3211B TV up as an extension of my laptop, but had to change the refresh rate from the default 58p Hz to 60p Hz for the digital TV display. Once I did this, it came right up.

I have a Jensen (JE1909ACB) 19 LCD TV Can't get it to hook up as a monitor on my desktop. It reply's unsupported mode.

Are you using the VGA port on the Jensen TV? What is your computer's OS?

The usual reason for the unsupported mode message is that the the computer did not recognize the TV as a monitor on boot up or that the previous settings were incompatible with the TV. (For example, if you previously had a CRT connected to the computer and used a refresh rate of 75 Hz, the TV can't handle the refresh rate. It needs to be set at 60 Hz.)

First turn off both the TV and the computer. Then turn on the TV and set it for the PC input (assuming you are using the VGA port). Next turn on the computer. If you have Windows XP or later, it should find the TV and set the resolution without any input. (If it doesn't, use a different monitor and set the resolution to 1366 x 768 and 60 Hz. Then try again.) If you used the HDMI port, try the VGA port. This TV doesn't understand a computer signal over the HDMI port (only set top boxes).

I hope this helps.

I'm having trouble getting my monitor to recognize my laptop when I hook them up. I tried going to my desktop, then adding a device or projector, then adding the monitor but the tv still won't...

What you'll need to do is set your TV to whatever input you're using on the laptop (VGA or HDMI). Then go into Display Properties, which can be found in Control Panel. Select the grayed out 2nd display and check "Extend desktop onto this monitor". Slide the resolution to something your TV can support such as 1366x768 or 1920x1080. Apply, OK, OK and you're done. The exact steps that you'll need is slightly different than the instructions here because of variation in TVs and OSes, but it's mostly identical.

well there is a problem with some cards that wont disply on TV and some do but the screen is black n white thats the way it is. its due to the driver, update the driver to latest and then give it a shot.

Red tinge on tv screen when laptop plugged through HDMI

Neo2123 is correct.

The HDMI output is setup as a second disply, not Primary disply.
You will need to get into the video Driver settings and configure this for a single monitor.

1. Right click on the desktop
2. select "graphics properties"
3. set up the "Digital Display"

All the steps or naming may be different on you computer, but some of this is fiarly standard.

Using my tv as a monitor

Right click on desktop, then go to properties. Click on the settings tab. There should be two boxes, labeled 1 and 2. Click on box 2 and select:
Use the device as the primary monitor and Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor. Also go to advanced -> Monitor and make sure that the screen refresh rate will not damage your tv. For older tv's it's usually 60 Hz for NTSC and 50 Hz for PAL.
After getting your settings where you want them, click apply. This will transfer all video output to the auxillary screen and will leave your primary monitor blank until you change the settings back to the primary screen.
