SOURCE: Glow PLugs and Relays

Good Day
The glow plug relays are located on the right front shock tower. Remove the cover and you will see two relays If I remember I think they are round, but not sure.

Please let me know how you make out and if there is anything else that I might be able to help you with.

Cheers

SOURCE: Can anyone tell me where to find the glowplug

Above the Relay Panel is the Auxiliary Relay Panel. Has thirteen positions in it.
6 across the top, 7 across the bottom.

Across the bottom the Glow Plug Relay is the fourth one over from the left. It is Number 10.

SOURCE: No power to glow plugs...relay replaced...still no

There is a big fuse in the engine room for the glowplugs.
You'll find it just near the brake vacuum cilinder under a black cap...
Hear if the glow relay ticks when you'll put power on. Does the glow light lights on?

I have a 08 bobcat 463 with a Kubota engine. it will not start I checked fuel shut off solenoid its good cracked lines at injectors have fuel. sound like it wants to start lot of black smoke

That black smoke is because it isn't getting any air to mix with the fuel your putting in it. Your air cleaner is either plugged up completely or there is a emergency shut of flap on the intake that needs opened.

On a Bobcat 463 when starting I normally hear a click just before starting. Now there is no click and it won't start.

That unit runs on diesel. The click could be a fuel pump relay or injector pump or injectors retracting.

My 1993 compact bobcat skidsteer won't start, it just stopped running and won't start, I have tried starting fluid and still nothing?

Could be engine speed sensor. All fuses need to be checked. Any smoke when cranking? Any fault codes? A bad fuel solenoid could cause no start if fuel is good.

Tried to start 2004 f250 with out glowplugs now it wont start. checked fuse still wont start

glow plug light and glow plug are not on same system
check at gow plug conection (top of valve cover both side
follow from relay front valve vover right side silver box)
power 12 volts on all 4 wires in both conector left and right
if not replace relay if 12 volts relay ok (test light clip on ground)
then check glow plug (test light clip on positive ) touch wires going
to glow plug should light up if ok (quick test ) if any fail replaced
if all seems ok look at the oil injection system most common

I have a 1997 ford F350 WITH A 7.3L DIESEL, it turns over but will not start. My wail to start light or other indicator lights do not come on when I turn on the key.

The first thing to do is locate the owner manual.

Look for the glow plug relay MAIN FUSE location.

The glow plug portion of your van is not working.

This difficulty scale from 1 to 10 is a 9.

You will need a DVM and tool undo the cables to each glow plugs.

It's a 1 to 2 hours troubleshooting job.

I'm going to fire off a quick list

====
Check / replace blown glow plug relay main fuse
====

Disconnect each center nut of the glow plug wire. PLEASE CHECK ONE AT A TIME.

Read the resistance between the center of the glow plug and the metal base of the plug.

Please take good note on each glow plug resistance reading.

MAKE SURE all cables are put back and tighten properly.

Compare the resistance on all cylinders.

OPEN/high resistance is bad glow plug.

In general 3 ohm or less is OK.

You should buy one and use its value as baseline.

===

Glow plug relay can be bad.

You will need the VOM and a friend to turn the key.

Check the voltage to each glow plugs. It should be 12.6-13.6 volt.

Be careful,the plugs will get HOT.

Compare the voltage on each cylinders.

====
So the problem can be combination of

glow plug relay

glow plug relay main fuse

glow plugs

ignition switch is unlikely but I'm going to list it anyway.

Once again,this is a difficult and time consuming job. I will ask a friend to help out,

Good luck.

2002 Jetta TDI has no power to glow plug buss at startup

replace the relay but check connections first as often connection get hot and corroded.failing which buy a push button switch use a relay and and some heavy wire to and from relay to the heaters and work them manually.you could try seperating the relay and cleaning the connections inside.
