Question about AM Auto Parts 1995 to 2005 Pontiac Sunfire 2 Door Coupe Window Regulator Power wi

1 Answer

My 1995 sunfire is smoking anti freeze out of the exhaust. It feels like it sometimes bogs the plugs down. No coolant in oil.

My 1995 pontiac sunfire coupe has coolant going through the exhaust and appears to drown out the plugs. Steam clouds when stopped at traffic light.

My car keep blowing white smoke them randomly stopping sometimes no smoke and my coolaint is always low down

If youre wondering about a blown head gasket or cracked head, smell your exhaust. If it smells like anti freeze then youre right. If not, you have a coolant leak and your car is burning oil from one reason or another. Check your oil also. Usually when head gasket goes bad you will get water in the oil. The oil will start getting creamy after a while....if it looks like it has water in it, it probably does.

Replaced thermostat on pontiac sunfire now there's smoke coming from coolant tank

Sounds like you have a leaking head gasket or damage to the engine from when it overheated.
A leaking head gasket can cause compression to leak into the cooling system and pull coolant into the cylinders which is burned out the exhaust. It does not have to leak into the oil.
A shop would check for exhaust gas in the cooling system and run a compression test on the cylinders.

Symptom #1: Chronic Engine Overheating

2000 pontiac sunfire starts only when gas pedal is held to floor, idles rough and white smoke comming to exhaust changed IAC valve..no change

If you have excessive white smoke coming from the vehicles exhaust, it sounds like your headgasket is failing. Especially having a rough idle too. Check your coolant level, does your exhaust smoke smell sweet, like Antifreeze? If so, the gasket has blown. Hope this helps...

I have a 1995 chevy astro van that throws out gray smoke from the exhaust which later turns to black smoke the smoke also smells like gas

May be a head gasket. Anti-freeze will burn white / gray. Make sure you are not losing coolant. Look at your oil on the dip for any signs of foaming / water.
Take care.

Coolant in exhaust system causing white smoke and the smell of anti freeze when running. Can NOT detect Hydraulic lock in cylinders. Car runs well It would also appear that some coolant leaks out of the...

Your Intake gasket, head gasket, or the head itself is leaking internally. This can cause serious damage & siezing of the pistons in the cylinders if operated with this condition. A pressure test will be necessary to determine exactly where the leak is coming from. You can pull the plugs and identify which cylinder is pulling the fluid in & blowing it out the exhaust as you will see the antifreeze residue on the plug when removed.

Will require replacement of gaskets and any damaged components. Repair before extreme overheating will save you money.

good luck

White smoke from tailpipe and low oil pressure

How's the anti-freeze doing? Usually when you see white smoke coming out the tailpipe it's because you are getting anti-freeze in the exhaust somehow. Try to sniff it a little does smell like anti-freeze, or oil? I don't know why the oil pressure would be low unless you are getting anti-freeze in the oil. Does the oil look milky, knda like chocolate milk? The low oil pressure could also be a faulty gauge, you may want to have a mechanic put a mechanical gauge on the car for test purposes.

I have a sunfire 1995 convertible with 147,000 miles. The temp control rises to the danger area then goes back down. Their ddoesn't appear to be any leaks or anti freeze loss. Could this be just a falty...

A likely problem is your thermostat. It's in expensive and easy to replace. That's where I would start...

Also remember, with as many miles as you have on the car, your radiator core may be plugged and not allowing fluid to circulate and cool.

1998 jaguar xj8 consumes anti-freeze

First thing to check is the radiator cap seal. If it is not sealing properly, the water will boil off and then soon, the anti freeze will begin to disappear. Clean the metal surfaces and gasket and make sure it is tight ---or buy a new cap --but make sure there is a seal. If that doesn't cure it, you may have a head gasket leak that blows the coolant (anti freeze) into one cylinder. If that cylinder is tight, the coolant will only evaporate in the heat and be blown out the exhaust --not entering the oil pan. Check your exhaust when you start up. You may see white smoke, or even liquid, exiting the exhaust pipe, indicating a blown head gasket (then engine may run rough, too). If this is the case, there are reasonably inexpensive cures for this in some cases.

the chaulk white color could be normal to lean running, or could be burning coolant. how does it run with new plugs in it now? if running ok, ck and top off coolant tank and monitor the level for a few hundrred miles and see what happens. how is the engine temp. and how is the heat? if it were burning coolant i would think you would see a problem with fluctuating temps and low heat output.
