Was the keyboard working properly when you got it?Keyboard faults are usually a result of spills.Sepage can even get to thekeyboard ribbon connection on the motherboard.Replacing the keyboard and ensuring the ribbon connector is clean is the solution for spills.Reseating the ribbon on the motherboard after checking for any possible shorting on the connection strips

Keyboards are usually easy to replace. It sounds like your might need replacing. If so then here's a video that will help you accomplish this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jqg5uyw7d...

Thanks for the advice....and yes the keyboard was working fine and then all of a sudden the right side just stopped working. However, oddly enough, I got so aggravated with trying different things with no results, I just shut the computer down and let it sit for about five hours. When I turned it back on, the keyboard is now working properly! Weird! Anyway, I appreciate the help!!

HP elitebook6930p touchpad not functioning ........ any help

a 2008 built (MFG) PC, Vista is my top guess.(yes?)
sure the cause is only 2 things.
bad software or bad hardware (the classic computer fact !)
so load the drivers from hp.com for your exact PC. there.
if fails
the HW bad, the pad or the cables to it.
in some case the pad may use an internal USB port and that bad.
SW or HW.
also upgrading any old PC, OS to an OS not supported by HP gets you this too, and more. NO OS told no history of OS told.(upgrades)
hp.com is sick today (slug)

it came with XP or VISTA new, still doing that?
if still that both are infected now, they are virus magnets.
if upgrade to w7, then step 2 is get the drivers for W7, if did.

Why won't my hp elitebook 8540p speakers work while in the docking station, connected only to external mouse and monitor?

You can switch audio playback between the docking station and your Surface speakers. Here's how:
Step 1: Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and tap Search.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click Search.) Step 2: In the search box, enter manage audio, and in the search results tap or click Manage audio devices. Step 3: Next, do one of the following:
  • To play audio through the audio port on the docking station, tap or click Speakers (CNXT Audio).
  • To play audio through the Surface speakers:
    • On Surface Pro 2 or Surface Pro 3, tap or click Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio).
    • On Surface Pro, tap or click Speakers (2-High Definition Audio Device).
Step 4: Tap or click Set Default, and then tap or click OK.
