Chlorine generator systems gradual increase the water's pH. You'll need to add acid to keep the pH down around 7.4. High pH can lead to cloudy water so get the pH balanced and you should be ok.

Ph level is at 'ideal' chlorine level is at 3.0 but the pool water is still cloudy. Please help?

The cloudiness could be suspended particles or algae. Use an algae k i l l er as recommended, then a flocculant (water clarifier) as recommended, then vacuum the pool bottom and run the filter overnight.

After that check the ph, alkali level, chlorine level, and adjust as needed. That should do it.

Help brown pool water, high iron content in well

your alkalinity is way too high. It shouldn't be above 7.8... 7.4 - 7.6 is ideal. I use muriatic acid to lower my ph. Also, your alkalinity is too high. should be between 80 and 120.
There is a sequestering agent you can use to try and drop the metals out of the water, if any are present. You stated you had high iron.
However, before tackling the iron, you need to get your ph under control. Chances are if you get your ph and alkalinity in line, your water will look a whole lot better.
If it is still cloudy, I would use a floc product.

What can I do for cloudy greenish water

make the priority fixing the water with an overdose of chlorine making sure to not use the pool for swimming while doing this, after the green goes, and you will know when you have put enough chlorine in when it clears up, then re adjust your pH level. after the level is correct, use the pool as normal .

My intex saltwater system pool is cloudy

The chlorine level maybe too low and it is allowing algae to start growing.
Check the Ph level, it should be around 7.
Check the chlorine level in the pools water, use your chlorine test kit.
Check the salt levels, make sure it is at the correct concentration, too low a salt level and the Intex will not be able to generate enough chlorine.

Hayward vari-flow valve sp714 cloudy water

Otherwise chemistry fine?
whenever someone is vague about chemistry residual readings, but provide a pH reading, I'm always Leary.
  • bring pH up to 7.6
  • Balance Total Alkalinity at 120 ppm
  • Bring Hardness to at least 200 ppm
  • Keep Chlorine level at least 3.0 All the time
  • ISO Cyaniric acid / stabilizer at least 30, not exceeding 80 ppm
  • Use a Natural Clarifier weekly - rate = 1 ozs per 5000 gallons
  • Use Algaecide (not from Kmart!) weekly
  • Clean filter whenever pressure approaches 8# over starting
  • Filter for at least 1 turnover per day. This is usually 8 hours in most regions
Follow this, should be good

Water in pool seems cloudy now

If it seems clowdy now it is probably low on chlorine and unless this is corrected it will turn green in within a day or two. My suggestion is that you bring a sample of your water to a pool supply store and they will test it. If you have filled the pool recently with new water the two things you should be most concerned about are chlorine, stabilizer ph and alkalinity. Since your pool is clowdy the chlorine should be about 10 ppm and the stabilizer should be between 30 and 50 ppm. If you are short on stabilizer the chlorine will be gone very soon. If you have too much stabilizer the chlorine will say in the pool but it won't be as effective. Since the water is new the ph and alkalinity should be ok but the source of your water might be poor. Alkalinity is based on the amount of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) in the water. If the level is right it helps keep the ph stable. Most municipalities supply water with 80 ppm of sodium bicarbonate in order to maintain their ph more easily. If the ph is too high it is base and causes the chlorine to be not as effective and it causes other problems when it is too low. Adding acid to the pool reduces the ph and adding sodium carbonate or sodium bicarbonate increases the ph. Since the water is new I would automatically shock the pool to 10 ppm of chlorine and treat with stabilizer to 30 ppm and then see how it goes. I wouldn't let anyone swim until the chlorine drops to between 2 and 4 ppm, the pool bottom is clearly visible and no dirt, etc is visible. I hope this helps.

My water is cloudy and says salt level low.....it seems salty enough as I can feel and taste it. Is there chemicals I am supposed to be adding or does this system keep it clean all alone just by adding...

While your problems are likely greater than just the salt content in the water I can tell you that if you feel, or more importantly can taste the salt in the water your salt level is WAY TO HIGH, not low. Have the salt level confirmed with an independent test either at a pool store or using a salt tester.

Ph level for saltwater intex system is too high and water is a bit cloudy what do I do?

Get your water tested at your local pool store and they are going to tell you to add Muriatic Acid. Follow their instructions carefully, hopefully they are a good company. Salt water systems tend to drift the pH slightly basic (high) because of the offgasing of Hydrogen ions in the water. Hayward Mineral Springs salt has pH and alkalinity buffers in the salt already, depending on what brand of salt you are using, that might be your problem.

Water is cloudy in easy set pool. How do I clear

not enough info like what kind of chlorine and if salt water set up Cloudy water is usually not enough filtering or low chlorine for an extended period of time Be more specific.

No matter what method salt or regular water you need to turn the pool water over at least 3 times a day/night

Lets use generic #'s if you have a 4000gl pool and a 2000gph pump you need to filter at least 6 hours you will need to adjust the #'s for you and figure out how long to filter.

It is also important to keep the chlorine between 1.0 and 1.5 then set your ph level with either ph up or ph down depending on what yours registers at after the chlorine is set.

Remeber that you must first set the chlorine since the ph is affected by chlorine level.

once both are set then the ph will go up and down with your chlorine so keep it in check after initial setting

for now add a little extra chlorine and filter for 24 hours then vaccum remeber to take out the filter cartridge once or twice a week and hose it hard with the garden hose. I am on my 3rd season with the same cartridge
