Why my battery have a short time of life?

HTC phones and all android phones use much more battery life then your previous phones. they run many applications all at the same time, whether you want it to or not. To save battery life, download an app killer from the marketplace. I purchased an extended battery and it made it much more tolerable about charging occurances

Do I have to charge up the battery on my new Acer 531 before I set up and use. If so - for how long? Thanks

its best to drain the battery completely in it, before you go near it with a charger. then leave it charging over night a good 12 hours will give it best life. each time then only charge it when its empty. if your using your laptop at home, take the battery out and put it away saves it been charged and charged for no reason. doubles its life

Sansa e250

i know i have to charge my sansa for at least 7-8 hours before the battery will show it is full. about your other problem, i believe there is an option under the settings menu to automatically shut your sansa off. If not then you can turn off the backlight and that will save alot of battery life.
