Well the problem is that the wiring could be loose or it can be backward shut down all of the breakers and check the wiring and see if anything is loose or wired backwards this could cause a fire if not properly installed so check all of the wiring as the power is not connected to avoid danger or fires

Why does the breaker keep tripping on this 2.0hp exhaust fan motor

Christopher, motors starter/capacitor could be faulty, wire circuit/breaker could be insufficient. motor could be faulty or wired incorrectly. Have motor checked out and ensure you are wiring correctly.

Power to fan pulses and other out lets on that line are out

This plug could be faulty or has to much plugged in at once but it could even be a bad ground or motor check the wiring to make sure nothing is loose or grounding out also shut off the power from the breaker box to that aeria and take out the outlet to see if the outlet is bad or loose and put it all back together and see what happens from there

Are you sure nothing else is using power? Sounds like a ground fault to me. Any devices which could cause harmonics which you can think of?

I have a model 5BS520C. The light works but when I pull the chain for the fan, I hear the sound of three speeds but the blades do not turn. ed.pfohl@gmail.com

Here some toubleshooting:

Problem 1. Fan will not start.
Probable Cause
1. Fuse or circuit breaker blown.
2. Loose power line connections to the fan, or loose wire connections in the switch housing.
3. Reversing switch in neutral position.

Suggested Remedy
1. Check main and branch circuit fuses or circuit breakers.
2. Check line wire connections to fan and switch wire connections in the switch housing.
3. Make sure reversing switch position is all the way to one side.

WARNING: Make sure main power is turned off.

Problem 2. Fan sounds noisy.
Probable Cause
1. Blades not attached to fan.
2. Loose screws in motor housing.
3. Screws securing fan blade flanges to motor hub are loose.
4. Switch housing binding against the blade hub.
5. Wire connectors inside switch housing rattling.
6. Screws holding blades to flanges are loose.

Suggested Remedy
1. Attach blades to fan before operating.
2. Check to make sure all screws in motor housing are snug (not over-tight).
3. Check to make sure the screws which attach the fan flanges to the motor hub are tight.
4. Check to make sure that the switch housing does not bind against the blade hub.
5. Check to make sure wire connectors in switch housing are not rattling against each other or against the interior wall of the witch housing.
6. Tighten screws securely.

WARNING: Make sure main power is turned off.

Problem 3. Fan wobbles
Probable Cause
1. Setscrew in motor coupling is loose.
2. Setscrew in the hanger ball/downrod assembly is loose.
3. Screws securing fan blade flanges to motor hub are loose.
4. Fan blade flanges not seated properly.
5. Hanger bracket and/or outlet box is not securely fastened.
6. Fan blades could be out of balance.

Suggested Remedy
1. Tighten the setscrew in the motor coupling.
2. Tighten the setscrew in the hanger ball/downrod assembly.
3. Check to be sure screws which attach the fan blade to motor hub are tight.
4. Check to be sure the fan blade flanges seat firmly and uniformly to the surface of the motor hub. If flanges are seated incorrectly, loosen the flange screws and retighten.
5. Tighten the hanger bracket screws to the outlet box, and/or secure outlet box.
6. Interchanging an adjacent (side-by-side) blade pair can redistribute the weight and result in smoother operation.

WARNING: FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY TURN OFF POWER AT FUSE BOX OR CIRCUIT BREAKER BEFORE TROUBLESHOOTING YOUR FAN!!!

Hope helps.

Stove top or oven doesn't heats. range type is a accubake system

Have you check the outlet to see if its geting power, if not, check the main breaker in the breaker box, you may have to turn the breaker to the off postion and then back to the on postion, if power is going to the outlet your stove should work.

Hi I'm thinking of getting an OTR mictowave and was wondering if I have to install an outlet in the cabinets or can I just place it where the existing wires for the hood fan are. This location would be...

The outlet needs to be in the cabinet above. The microwave needs a dedicated circuit. Turn the power off to the hood and see if any lights or outlets go off on the same curcuit. If only the hood is on that line your good to go with that wire if it meets requirments. Our code asks for 15 amp breaker and 12/2 grounded wire. If it meets your local requirments, just take it up inside the wall to your new outlet location(usually there is enough wire to reach) and install a box, outlet and cover.

FREEZER WORKS...FRIDGE DOESN'T

Hi,...

In that case you need to check this

  • Make sure the refrigerator is plugged in securely
  • Check for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker
  • Test the power outlet for current
  • Inspect the electrical cord for damage
  • Eliminate use of an extension cord, if any is being used
  • Check the outlet voltage
Good luck !!!
