Question about Insignia 37" LCD Flat-Panel HDTV
Every time I do the auto channel search It finds a total of 103 channels. After thats done, I press either channel up or down and it tells me to do the auto channel search, so I do it again, and I get the same thing. I can change channels by pressing the numbers but not the channel button. Its getting kind of irritating. Its also hooked up to standard cable throughout an apartment complex with just a wire from the wall to the tv.

The tuner section, and or the voltage regulator circuit that supplies it is probably failing. The service rep for your set may be able to order a new tuner module and install it. This is not a type of repair you can do yourself.

If your TV is less then a year old, still under manufacturers warranty. If not under warranty the defective parts could be the power supply or the back light inverter board. Both boards can be replace easily.
The way to know if you have a defective backlight inverter is by shinning a light from a flash light near the screen with the TV on and check in a 45 degrees angle if you have a dark video in the background, if the video is present then you have a backlight board failure. If no video, then is a power supply failure.
I have both boards if you want to buy them.
Let me know if you require further assistance.

SOURCE: Hello. I am contaqcting you
you could try a signal booter, sometimes they help. If you still do not get all your channels the tuner may be defective. They work in bands and may get some channels but not others. Low band, mid and high..
