I don't know how your printer was setup originally. On my samsung laser printer there are two options, the usb connection or a network connection. If you use usb than you just install the printer software to the operating system, you might re-install printer software if it keeps throwing printer offline or if you forgot to connect the printer cable to it, it might put the printer offline because it can't find it. If you want it to setup printer as a network printer, you establish a connection to the printer's IP. Printers that have an IP have a menu system with buttons and display on the printer itself, that is where you find the item to print out settings also, press enter on that item and it prints the page of settings. Find instructions for the menu system might help. You can set an IP manually if it has a manual option, like a last digit not another pc. Then you add your printer in Windows as a network printer installing the software too. It asks what IP and you state what it is. That's why you might want the print out of printer settings so you know what IP that it is already set at. Can't remember what it takes involving a router but if you connected it direct to pc than you could simply add that IP for a network printer in setting up your printer with software and an IP connection, if using a router you might have to enter the router setup to add the IP address of printer so the printer can be found by the PC.

Is this unit (Tally 2265+) possible for LAN interface? If that so, can you give me a step by step method to do. Thanks!

The 2265+ has a LAN interface as standard, you do not need to install any options.

You can set the IP Address Via the control panel, go to the I/F section then select "Eth".
Set the IP Method to STATIC if you manually want to set an IP address.

By default the 2265+ has DHCP enabled so if you have a DHCP server the printer will obtain an IP address.
You can confirm the IP Address by printing out a configuration menu page;

Start with the printer Powered OFF
-Press and HOLD DOWN the SETUP button, and power the printer on.
-When the printer finishes initialising release the SETUP button. (this unlocks the menu)
-Ensure the printer is OFFLINE
-Press the SETUP button
-Press the BUTTON under MENU on the LCD display(Button 1)
-Press the BUTTON under PRINT on the LCD display (Button 2)
-The printer will print a menu configuration.

I have a HP C5180 all-in-one printer connected to a Network. It keeps changing the IP address AND going offline on it's own. I can change the IP address to what the network says it is, but I can't figure...

You can set Static IP address according to your network

When you will press the Setup Menu and go to Network Menu You will find an option which says Ip address there you can assign Static IP address

Once done that may be your printer will go offline again and you can set it online by right clicking on the printer and selecting "Set Printer Online" option (Assuming you have Windows OS

Connected to wireless network ok but wont print anymore and my PC says it is offline. I've just bought a windows 7 pc and it won't load the solutions centre disk so I dont know how to get the printer back...

I checked the IP address of the printer on the wireless network and it was different to the IP address the PC was trying to use. So I went into printer properties - printer port and changed the IP address and it started working again.

"brother mfc 7840w printer goes offline and i cannot print need turn printer on and off.

The solution, and it took me a long time to find the simple solution, is to right click on your printer, click properties, click the ports tab and click on your Brother printer and click on configure port (or you can delete the existing one and then add another one). What you want to do is update the IP Address. The problem is that the printer does not have a static IP address, it is dynamic. If you want to confirm that, go to your printer and press the reports button and print out the network configuration report. Your IP address will show on that. It's really the last digit in the IP address that changes. This will absolutely solve your problem. Good Luck!

I was also facing the same Problem, I solved it by following these steps
First I noted down the IP address from the Printer, Menu > Network > Wlan > Tcp/IP
then on my pc
1.Point to Printers and faxes 2.add new printer 3.a welcome window appeared click next --select local printer attached to this computer do not check automatically detect............. then click "Next" 4. Point to Create a New port then select HP Tcp/IP Port 5. a Welcome page appears again click Next 6. Now is the time to Write the IP address you noted earlier from the Printer also check Always print to this.......... 7. now by clicking ok or Next it will take some time to load another window 8. Now at the bottom left of this window you will find two options i selected the "custom" option, another window appeared click ok and wait for few seconds, when that disappear click Next Click finish and wait.......... 9. HP Photosmart C6180 goes Offline in Vista

Solution A:

Download and install this Critical Update for your printer directly from HP.

Solution B:

There have been cases where if the PC is turned off or goes into hibernate this can occur. To work around this issue the "HP CUE DeviceDescovery Service" must be disabled:

1) Click on the "Start Menu" icon on the bottom left corner of the screen, type "services.msc" in the "Start Search" edit box, and hit enter. This will trigger Vista to pop-up a "User Account Control" dialog to prompt for permission to continue. Click "Continue" to allow Vista to open the Services management console application.

2) The Services management console application is made up of 2 panels. The right panel contains a list of all services available on the system. Scroll thru this list and look for a service called "HP CUE DeviceDiscovery Service".

3) Right-click on "HP CUE DeviceDiscovery Service" and select "Properties" to open the "HP CUE DeviceDiscovery Service Properties" dialog.

4) From the "HP CUE DeviceDiscovery Service Properties" dialog, click on the "General" tab. If the "Service status" shows that the service has started, click on the "Stop" button to force the service to stop.

5) Change the "Start type" to "Disabled" and click on the "OK" button on the bottom of the dialog to apply the changes.

Solution C:

1. Set the printer to a static IP address
2. Logon to the machine as the administrator or with admin rights.
3. Remove/Reinstall the printer using the IP address

Brother MFC8460N Wireless printer going offline. All our folks using same wireless printer on Windows Vista OS. You guys have any break fix for this problem?

I had the same problem and call customer service (877-276-8437). Customer service will walk you through the process. You will have to configure you I.P. address along with other steps.
One thing I can tell you is to make sure under the Menu option...Network....WLAN...TCP/IP...BOOT Method....make sure it states STATIC.

Brother 845cw printer is offline -

Had same issue and here is what worked for me.

1. Go to Printers and right click on Brother printer and choose 'Properties'
2. Click the 'Ports' tab and with proper Brother printer port highlighted click 'Configure Port'
3. In second field titled "Printer Name or IP Address" enter the IP address of printer*
4. Click 'OK' as need to exit out.

I'm using XP so this may be slightly different depeneding on your flavor of Windows. The main thing is to name the port with the IP address and not rely on name resolution.

Hope this works for you too!

* If you don't know your printer's IP address then you can go to your printer and under the 'Reports' section print-out the Network Configuration report to find IP address.
