Question about Altec Lansing CS21 Computer Speakers
Likely, what you are experiencing is the fact that the batteries in your speaker are running low. The sound of this speaker – as with any battery operated device – is reliant on fully-charged batteries. When the charge gets too low, you will experience sound distortion or abnormalities. Just put in fresh batteries, and you should be all set.

Try reseting the iphone to factory reset. Next try playing the music with your iphone speakers. If you find that the phone speakers are playing fine then its the speakers which need to be sent back. Its not a year old and I am sure they are in warranty. Hence I would suggest not to do anything to make the warranty void.
Thanks for contacting Fixya.
