Question about Kenmore Refrigerators
My Kenmore Elite 795.79773.900 isn't making much ice. It makes about one batch of six cubes per day, or not at all. I have tried the following: turning icemaker off/on, reinserting bin, ultra ice button, and changing cube size.
Check the temp in your freezer it should be about -2 degrees if not it wont make much ice and you probably dont have enough air flow due to coils froze from not defrosting properly or the little fan motor in the freezer is not working. You will have to remove the inside back freexer panel to check either one. also if you have a water filter on your line check that.

SOURCE: LG ICE MAKER
Be sure that the fill tube is getting into the ice maker and that the ice maker is not blocked with ice. If everything seems ok, you may have a leaking water valve which causes it to constantly drip water into the ice maker causing the block of ice.

SOURCE: ICE CUBE MAKER SMELLY ICE CUBES

Ice has bad odor and taste.
1• Ice has picked up odor or
flavor from strong food stored
in refrigerator or freezer.
2• Water running to ice maker
has poor taste or odor.
3• Ice not used frequently enough.
4• Cover foods tightly. Discard stale ice. Ice maker will
produce fresh supply.
5• Add filter to water supply line. Consult a water purifying

Most ice makers have an adjustment screw to control the cube size. Its usually hidden behind a plastic panel on the front of the ice maker. A quarter turn either way and some trial and error testing should get you pointed in the right direction to your ideal ice cube.

its the ice maker .water or condensation has built up in the ice maker modual and refroze upon turning unit back on.either get a new ice maker or uninstall the ice maker and let it dry for a few days and reinstall.but it could happen again that way.or maybe not.
