If you don't want to drop the transmission pan or drain it through the oil cooler line, you can stick a section of aquarium air hose in the dipstick tube and pump the fluid out that way.

It could even be a bad ground. has the car been wrecked? try running a ground wire from the battery to the negative on the head light and see if it is brighter. or whipper motor or blower motor.

The transmission gear oil is checked and filled through the speedometer drive gear hole, on the
santa fe. Hope this helps.

2001 Hyundai Sante Fe Transmission Filter Location


The filter sits on top of the transmission. look under the hood on drivers side it screws right on top of the transmission. It looks like an engine oil filter.
