Question about Dyson DC17 Animal Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum
Please advise if there might be a clog preventing the wand from working.
Hi Jodi, it's Jack at Dyson.
Like most Dyson vacuums, DC17 is engineered to shut itself off for protection if it starts to overheat. If this happens after a period of use, or when you try to use the wand and hose, it's likely this will be caused by a blockage somewhere in the machine.
We'd like to provide further assistance and to help you check for any obstructions within the machine. When you have your vacuum easily to hand, please call us on 1-866-693-9766 (US), or 1-877-397-6622 (CA).
We'll look forward to speaking with you.

SOURCE: dyson clogs at main intake
Six months just stopped steaming. Don't wast your time trying to take apart.
I poured small amount of vinegar in and let it sit an hour then empty it out and ran a small wire into the base of the steamer. I could feel resistance but after poking it a few times it cleared! Put water in and it worked. On to the next project.
