It sounds like a contact fault to its buttons inside the remote control. Your remote control need to have cleaned. To clean it, you have to open it and take the printed circuit board inside it. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Viewing it in "Mosaic" will make surf easy.

SOURCE: the rewind/ff/record and pause buttons won't work.

This will be due to either your Hard Drive crashing if you cant also access your recordings. if so then i would reccommend call dish At 800-333-3474 bercause your 721 DVR is outdated and discontinued. It also is in patent dispute with tivo. When you contact dish they will offer you a new dual tuner DVR reciver with way more recording time. this upgrade should be free of charge as well.

SOURCE: select & skip forward buttons no longer work on the #2 UHF remote

THis solution depends on your ability to do it yourself.
If you are brave enough you can disassemble your remote and dust the black blisterpads with graphite powder being careful to blow off any residue before reattaching. This will add some life to that old remote, but eventually all things must be replaced. Graphite powder can usually be found at most office supply houses and some Schools. It is usually used to lubricate slide rules.

My pause, rewind and fast forward not working when watching tv

I ASSUME you are using the dvr function of a cable box or satellite receiver. I also ASSUME your other buttons are working, since you say nothing about them.

Check that pause, rew, and ff buttons have codes from the correct device. A code from your tv will not help if you need to control your sat receiver.

There may be multiple codesets in the Harmony database that work with your device, try all of them.

Sometimes the codes are poorly named or even wrong. You may need to try all the codes to find the right one.

I'm not sure if the Harmony One can learn codes from the original remotes, but that may be a better option.

How do i set the time on a vcr that normally uses a wheel but i'm using an universal remote

  • most universal remotes usually only do the simple commands like power, play, fast forward, rewind, pause, stop.
  • It may not be capable of setting the time.
  • If the remote is able to be switched to just work for your VCR you could try to press the menu, input or setting buttons to bring up any type of menus that would possibly help. If that doesn't work you may not be able to set it with the remote.

Magnavox tv lost pause, rewind buttonstv problems

This simply sounds like a "remote address" problem, in other words--the remote is not assigned to the set. If this is for a DVD or VCR, you might have to assign that function before they work--by pressing the "dvd" or "vcr" button before they work.

I forgot how to work it.

The device looks extremely simple. Without having ever used the device, I can probably guess:

  • The - and + buttons are for volume control.
  • The ?? and ? buttons (Pause / Play) are for pausing and resuming playback as well as turning the device on and off by holding the button in.
  • The buttons are for skipping or rewinding and fast-forwarding songs.

Hi, I am seeking the region free code for a Samsung DVD-D530? Thanks!

I tried the above steps, but each time when restarting the DVD player, it said 'reset' and asked for the language to be selected again. Pressing the "Fast Forward Fast Rewind Fast Forward Up Down" sequence caused the player to lock up and require powering off at the wall.
I found on another web site that there are different initial sequences. Once I use the one for Region 2, it worked fine.

I found the instructions below on another web site, but it worked for me...
  • Make sure there is no disc in the player.
  • Turn on the player (you can use remote control or front panel, it doesn't matter)
  • Wait for "No Disc" message to appear on the TV screen.
  • Press the Repeat button on remote (plain, not A-B).
  • Press the correct sequence of buttons of remote according to the original region code of your player (it's on the sticker on the back panel of the player). FF = fast forward, FR = fast rewind.
    • Region 2 players: FF, FR, FF, UP, DOWN
    • Region 3 players: FF, PLAY, FR, UP, LEFT
    • Region 4 players: FR, PLAY, DOWN, DOWN, RIGHT
    • Region 5 players: FF, UP, DOWN, STOP, RIGHT
    • Region 6 players: LEFT, RIGHT, RIGHT, PLAY, LEFT
  • If you pressed the correct sequence, a small white number 0 will appear somewhere on the top right of the screen. The white number 0 of the same font and size as the "No Disc" message, so don't confuse with the red "not allowed" sign that would appear when you press a function that's not available.
  • Turn the player off and on again, then you can pop in a DVD of any region and watch immediately.
Good luck!

Rewind and fast forward

Put the cd in when it loads and display the disc time, you can then spin the round wheels forward or backwards to the place on the song that you're playing, this only work when the song is paused or stopped. If the disc is playing the wheels are only used to slow down or speed up the song.

Do you still have the remote control? Try with the remote. If this works, the button of the camera is broken and have to be replace by a qualified technician. Good luck!

Do you have a remote? Some camcorders you have to hit the record pause button on the remote and then hit pause. It then begins recording. I hope this works for you.
