Question about Acer Aspire One D260 Netbook
After battery low acere d260 turn off. I get in charge I turn on, but the pc dont'function. I have prove with and without battery.
Just a bit of sage advice. most of us men don't bother to read the instruction manuals but I finally did out of boredom. this really works. when you first get your new laptop or replace the battery, competely charge the battery before you use it. then completely drain it or wait the low battery indicator comes on then again plug it in and let it fully charge then fully deplete. patience will pay off. this needs to be repeated a total of three time. I get about three hours out of mine now that I so this.

The Acer Aspire One Netbook with early BIOS versions had problems with BIOS failures which turned the system essentially into a "brick". A solution posted over two years ago on macles provides steps for doing a BIOS recovery which restores the netbook back to normal. At your own risk, carefully follow the steps that are documented on the macles archive by clicking on the following link.
Be aware that the recovery procedure is just that and the "brick" problem can re-occur so if you are successful, keep the USB thumb drive and steps to do the recovery procedure handy for future use. It is possible to flash the BIOS with later versions which do not seem to have this problem. But that would be another fixya problem solution.
