How to Dazzle Your Eyes with the Right Makeup Application!

When you were young, chances are you wouldn't dream of leaving the house with throwing on your eye liner, brow liner, eye shadow and mascara. However, as you age there is less of a need for a multitude of products on your eye area. Instead, the main focus should be on keeping the eye area properly nourished to avoid the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Look for products with firming capabilities and use them every day! Always apply eye cream with your ring finger, as it offers the gentlest touch and avoids damaging the sensitive skin under your eye. After applying your firming product, dap a bit of concealer under each eye and blend it in until it's virtually unnoticed. Apply a light coat of eye shadow, two coats of lengthening mascara and you'll be ready for any event!

How to Put on Eye Shadow

Achieving Smoky Eyes.If you're looking for a way to play up your eye color, go smoky. A smoky effect makes eye color pop and creates a dramatic evening look. Read on to learn how to create a flawless smoky eye.

Create a smooth canvas for eye makeup. First, you'll want to apply a primer to your entire face, including the eye area. Then apply a concealer to get rid of redness and dark circles. Finish off by applying a moisturizing foundation to create a flawless canvas.

Apply eyeliner. Use a black liner and draw a line across the upper lash line. When you get to the middle of the eye, make the line a little bit thicker. Choose a lighter-colored eyeliner and line the bottom of your eye. Smudge the liner with your finger to create a smoky appearance.

Apply two colors of eye shadow. In order to select the right products, check out eye shadow reviews. You'll want a color palette that has both a light and a dark color, such as L'Oreal Paris HiP Concentrated Shadow Duo. Use the lighter color as a base and blend the color all over your upper lid. Then, apply the dark eye shadow, starting at the lash line and blending upward.

How do I turn flash on and off?

The multi selector is the round control on the rear of the camera with the OK button in its center.
The flash mode button is the top button on the selector, it has a lightning flash icon.

Press the flash mode button on the multi selector.
Highlight the desired mode and press the center of the multi selector.

The flash modes are:
AUTO; Flash fires automatically when lighting is poor.
AUTO WITH RED-EYE REDUCTION; Reduces "red eye" in portraits.
OFF; Flash will not fire even when lighting is poor.
FILL FLASH; Flash fires whenever picture is taken. Use to "fill-in" (illuminate) shadows and back-lit subjects.
SLOW SYNC; Flash illuminates mainsubject; slow shutter speeds are used to capture background at night or under dim light

The selected flash mode icon appears at the top of the monitor.

Flash wont work

Use the flash when you take pictures at night, indoors, or outdoors in heavy shadows. You can chose what flash mode, by pressing several times on the little button on top of the camera where the lightening logo is. One of the settings is flash off. Make sure it is not in that mode, because even when it is dark the flash won't fire. The other modes are flash, fill in flash and red eye reduction flash.

How do you turn the flash off on a kodak easy share c813

Press the flash button (marked with a lightning bolt symbol, next to the on/off button) repeatedly to cycle through the different flash modes. The four available modes are Auto (lightning bolt and letter "A"), which flashes when needed; Fill (lightning bolt), which always flashes to fill in shadows, Redeye (eye), which flashes once to dilate the subject's pupils then flashes again to take the picture, and Off (lightning bolt in a circle with a slash through it), which never flashes.

Red eye extreme even at 20 ft with reduction on, canon rebel xs 10.1

Red eye is caused by two things, the iris of the eye not prepared for the gobs of light that happens when someone is in the dark and also the fact the in-built flash is on a very close axis to the lens.

There is very little you can do except buy a SpeedLight like a 430EX or a 580EX to get the flash higher than the camera and it gives you opportunity to bounch the flash off surfaces like a ceiling or a wall.

The other is to get the subject close to another light source to get their eyes to get used to more light and you have a better chance. Also try bumping up the ISO in low light, meter for the ambient light you have and use the flash to fill the shadows, you will get more pleasing balance pictures too, rather than the deer in the headlights look.

Direct Sunlight...

Try adding a bit of fill in flash. It's difficult in direct sun, as if the sun is behind YOU the subject may be squinting. If the sun is behind the subject you will need lots of flash to compensate for the face being in shadow.

If you are posing the shot, put the sun behind and to one side of the sitter and use a good reflector to bounce light back toward them with the reflector at eye level. The reflector does not have to be a special bought item. A sheet of really thick whit card, taped to a tripod will do just as well.

If you are taking pics on the go and can't lug equipment around with you, meter on the face, use a little fill and bracket a stop either side to make sure.
