Go to autozone and ask for the wiring diagram. They will print one for you for free. If you dont have an autozone near you try another parts store. If you purchase a haines of chiltons manual ($25 in a retail store or $18 on amazon), it will have a detailed wiring diagram of the MAP sensor.
Sounds like the previous owner patched a hot wire to the rear lights instead of fixing the problem. Someone will need to get the factory wiring diagrams and start backtracking from the lights to the dash to find out what is wrong. You may need a shop manual to get the diagrams you will need. Most repair books do not go into wiring that deep for the DIY.
You need the little coupler thing that connects to the ball that makes up the chain. If you dont have the coupler ... you could get one at your local Ace Hardware store ... or you could just purchase a similar switch which would have the coupler on the chain.

You don't really need a wiring diagram. get the switch, swap it out wire for wire... pretty easy.. getting it apart will be the hardest part.
