Right arrow key not responding

I have an Acer Aspire 5741G and for some reason my right arrow key is nor responding. I had this problem a few days ago and the next day the key was working again. I tried restarting the laptop if that would have helped but it did not. Can you help me with a possible solution that would not include going to a service provider?

Try re-seating/re-connecting the keyboard as the cable underneath that connects it may be loose. If that doesn't work your probably need a new keyboard.

Sounds like it's hitting a dead cell in the battery. If you are a very skilled electrician or computer tech you can find and replace dead cells in the battery by taking it apart. Otherwise your safest and easiest solution would be the purchase a replacement battery. Check on ebay, usually you can find them for a fraction of regular cost. Peter [email protected] 561-537-3208

SOURCE: Not working right click of touch pad of Acer Aspire 4710z

Hey!

What operating system are you running? All I could find was a manual for your model: http://tinyurl.com/6gc7pl

If you are using Windows XP, you might try going to Control Panel -> Mouse -> On the first tab (Buttons) check "Switch primary and secondary buttons." then hit "Apply".

Try left-clicking (currently assigned to be the right-click) on your Start button and see if the menu with "Explore All Users" on the very bottom opens. If it does, then your touchpad is most likely defective and would have to be fixed (www.fixmyacer.com). If the menu doesn't come up, then it is a software issue and is 100% fixable.

you need to reconfigure your whole system.... That is: you must backup all your personal data and softwares, then you must have a window cd (xp,7,vista). it must be bootable.. You insert it and press any key when you start your laptop then you will get a boot screen which will intruct you what to do next. Then all that you will have to do is to format your laptop with NTFS... contact me if you are getting more problems and dont forget to rate me

I believe that you need to press the Fn and Right Arrow keys (at the same time) to increase brightness and the Fn and Left Arrow keys to make it less bright.

Right arrow key permanently 'pressed' down

Only solution here is to unplug the keyboard from the mother board. Just take apart the case and look for the ribbon cable going from the keyboard to the motherboard, and take it out.
