Question about Computers & Internet
Windows state protection error and also bypasses start up files when starting. cannot find any reference to protection errors in help any advice please
Its been a long long time, but i believe windows98 protection shutdowns were to prevent failures from destroying user data. They usually occured only with very bad driver problems or hardware problems. Starting is DOS you could try the System file checker.
Your floppy drive should actually be working fine in safe mode, its possible that your floppy drive is at fault or your motherboard even.

Testimonial: "following advice, syst chec found fault with floppy drive which said would fix later. continued check but it freezes on 1 0f 2000 files on thorough scan .Standard scan gives all clear.repeated attempts fail to progress. Thank you for input it appears this Windows error wont relent"
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

If you're running XP, boot to the XP cd, if available (if not, mail me and I can send you a dell XP disc)
Pass the first repair opportunity, press f8, then it should allow you to do a windows repair. Do that. You will keep all your files, but windows will be completely reloaded. Will need to get updates, but that's it.

SOURCE: help please
If you have existing malware or virus threats on your machine that will stop AVG installing correctly.
If you are installing AVG with Vista there is a KB file that must be installed before you can install AVG, AVG will warn you and supply you with a download link to get the Microsoft KB file.
Download and run Malwarebytes before atempting the AVG install.
You can download Malwarebytes here for free:

This seems to be serious problem. Please share the exact error message. If there are any external devices connected to the system please remove and then try to boot the system again.
Also post the brand and model of your laptop so that we can be more specific in terms of the steps.

you have to enter the windows installation CD and repair the missing files...they have been corrupted by a bug or something similar ...
if it wont take the files auto...just boot from cd and repair the current installation ...beware to not press repair at the first apparition ...do it after you choose the partition and all
