Question about HP IPAQ Computers & Internet

Office file icons disappeared in Windows Moblie 6.5

I have an iPAQ 216 with WM6.5. I installed in it Resco Explorer 2010 v8.00 and also the three apps of SoftMaker Office 2010 (TextMaker, PlanMaker, and PresentationMaker). I adjusted Resco Explorer so it would open the DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, PPT, and PPTX files in Softmaker Office 2010 instead of the default Microsoft Office apps that come with WM6.5 For some reason that caused the icons of those six types of files to disappear both from Resco Explorer and from the default file explorer that comes with WM6.5. Instead of showing an icon that can tell them apart, they all show a white paper with the Windows logo as their icons. This is a problem cause I can't easily tell apart the type of Office files. Can you please help me fix this?

Click with the second (usually the RIGHT) mouse-button on each icon, and choose PROPERTIES, and then CHANGE ICON.
Choose a different icon.

Testimonial: "Thank you... I tried you're solution using both the default file explorer that comes with Windows Mobile 6.5 and Resco Explorer 2010 v8.0. I didn't find the option for changing the icon in any of them both. Was I supposed to try that in another application? WM6.5 works differently from the Windows operating systems for desktop computers."

Looking for free download for companion cd for hp ipaq

Beyond some of the freebies, ie. like Resco Explorer, that are nice to have without paying, you
really don't need the CD. Outlook 2002 comes on the CD, but your already running Office (w/Outlook)
2003 so that part is taken care of... Personally I would not worry about it. It would probably be
hard to get anyway...

Look at this site for downloads of updates, etc...

Can't pull up information from SD Card to my Palm TX

Was the card formatted? The TX doesn't come with a built-in file viewing or file management application for SD cards. Depending on the type of files, you should be able to view those files (or lists of them) with the application that is appropriate to those files...i.e. Documents with Documents To Go, music with PocketTunes, etc. Also, some applications will look for files in particular folders. Music files should be in the /audio folder, for example. When you format the card in the Palm using the Card Info application, it creates these folders automatically. But, you want to be able to view the files with something like a Windows Explorer app, right? The free answer is something called FileZ. Google the name and you'll find it...maybe at www.freewarepalm.com or other sites. It does the job and it's free. But for something that's really the cat's meow in Palm file viewers, check out Resco Explorer. It does much more, including a .zip application, and other things. But it's not free. Check it out at www.resco.net or www.handango.com.

The ipaq 6515 has a microswitch that will turn off the pda if the battery cover is removed. When you remove the cover and try to turn it on even with the external power supply plugged in, the red led will light up.

Uninstall games on iPAQ h5555

What you can do is delete the icons by using File Explorer to navigate to \Windows\Start Menu and delete the Games group, or just delete the icons within the \Windows\Start Menu\Games group. That won't remove them from the machine and they will be back after a hard reset, but it will make them invisible.
