Grounding the unit is recommended by the manufacturer but the unit will work ungrounded. The negative DC input point is not necessarily chassis ground so connecting the power leads won't assure a direct ground connection. The reasons for grounding the chassis range from external noise reduction to lightning protection to electrolysis reduction.

How do do I Fix windsheld wippers.

Check the relays. The check for 12V at the wiper connector. Also check for a good ground between the wiper body and any metal surface. If they check out OK, but unit still wont run. Identify the 12V input to the motor. Connect it directly to the battery positive post. Unit runs problem is with the BCM. Unit does not run unit is bad or internal electronic controls is bad. Chrysler loves to run everything through the BCM (totally unnecessary) but it makes them a pile of money since many small things lights, etc run through the BCM and when they go bad the BCM needs replacing at $600 a crack! Nice scam huh?

I just bought a new battery for my suzuki intruder and still have no lights or anything when i turn the key on

Have you checked all the major gounds, including the battery ground cable? Also, use a test light, and see if voltage is going to the other wires on the ignition switch when you turn it on. You should have one wire that is 12v all the time, and when switching the key to the run position,it should have 12v on 3 wires. If i had to make and educated guess,id say your ignition switch is bad,...but be sure that you check ALL of your fuses, and main grounds first.
Good Luck!

I recently started to get really bad alternator whine noise from all my door speakers! it was working fine until i re-ran all the door speaker wires because my dumb cousin was using a very thin speak

hi, your problems could be many. this fault can be caused by a weak/old battery, poor quality/wrong gauge of battery B+ cable, very poor level of amp ground connection. this fault can be caused by a faulty rca output/preamp line out circuit from the head unit or crossover unit. this fault can also be caused by the antenna not being properly grounded to the vehicle chassis! best you check out you local installer if you battling with this fault.

2004 tundra fog lights do not turn on.

Try to wire them straight to 12v to rule out anything with the lights themselves. You've tested with a meter to the leads at the light with them switched on?

I have a 3010 John Deere +24 volt pos ground how do I change from 24 volt gererator to a 24 volt altenator

The 3010 24v JD system is not a true 24v system. It is a balanced split 12v system, with one positive ground battery and one negative ground battery. The only 24 volt accessory is the starter, where the batteries meet in a series to provide 24 volts for starting. All other accessories are 12v, half powered by the positive ground battery and half powered by the negative battery. The generator charges one battery in one direction and the other battery in the reverse direction. Therefore a 24v alternator is not easily adapted to this system.
The usual solution is to change to a 12v system with an alternator, changing the starter to 12v and changing the polarity of the positive ground battery to negative ground.
The cost of a 12v starter and alternator is far less than the cost of a 24v alternator, plus the added benefit of using 12v lights and other accessories.
JD switched to this 12v type of system with alternator during the 20 series production, but used two 6v batteries in a series due to the larger cranking amp rating of the 6v batteries occupying the same physical space.

XO Vision XO1915BT DVD lockout bypass

Don't ground it. It's the amp remote wire. You're grounding 12V. Go here for the wire specs. Hopefully you haven't shorted anything in the unit.

Buzzing noise

check where your power and ground is coming from. for best results i would stay away from factory power and ground, i would run the power (+12v NOT the switched 12v) straight to the battery and ground the unit to a known good solid ground. what your hearing might be interference from lack of solid connections. if your running amplifiers make sure the power and ground are properly connected and grounded as well. you can also try ground loop isolators on the amplifiers white and red wires.

No power to my pioneer gm5300t

good day bro, from your Pioneer amp supply line do you also see a terminal marked as " System controller" ? did you also supply 12V DC to this terminal?

the standard power configuration for Pioneer Car amps would be:

12V Dc (+) supply / ( - ) supply ground / System Controller ( supplied by +12V DC)

12V ( + ) supply and The ( - ) supply ground is for stand by power, once you connect the supply through this terminal you will now have the stand by power but will not power on the unit even the LED power indicator.

System controller terminal, this should be supplied by ( + ) 12V line to power up the amp. this serves as the ON/OFF switch for the amp.
