The refund you received should've been credited to your bank account. Some stores do allow you to receive the money from your refund in the form of a gift card.

Returned item but my credit card does not any credit applied


Good morning Gerry.

There are a few things to consider:
  1. Has the item arrived back at the manufacturer? (Do you have a tracking number or such that you can use to verify delivery?) Manufacturers won't generally issue a refund until they have the rejected item back and verified to be what they sent out. (If this was at a brick and mortar store, never mind)
  2. Was it returned to a place that is/was in holiday crunch mode? If you did the return in the middle of a big sale or Black Friday preview, returns may have been stacked up with return info, to be processed when someone has time.
  3. More broadly, have you contacted the seller and told them what was returned and when? You'll likely be able to at least get some info on how quickly such refunds are processed, and if they have a record of submitting the refund. if they think they did so, ask for any return or confirmation codes they had with your credit card company.
  4. It could be with your credit card company. If you have info from the store about what they say they did, (or don't but know when you returned it), call your credit card company - the customer service # is usually on the back of the card. Explain the situation and ask if they have record of a return, or of whatever the store might have told you. It could be an issue of if/how they update their website, holiday policy on when/how refunds are updated, or, say, a protest or issue lodged by the store. Or they may just say they have no record, upon which you go back to the store and either call the 'pants on fire' or say there's no record, and go through the more exhaustive making them do what they say the did/will do.

WHY IS IT IMPOSSIBLE TO GET MY REFUND THEY KNOW THE PHONE IS NO GOOD AND I COULD NEVER USE IT?


When you pay for things in cash this is the sort of thing that can happen - you are left at the mercy and good will of the vendor. If he does not give a rat's rear end about you, then you are stuck.

Always use credit cards since you are not paying until you get the bill and is some cases if you time it right you have almost 2 months to pay. If something goes wrong, you go back and insist on replacement lest you return the item and get a credit. And if he does not give you a credit, the credit card company will take their money back when you do not pay them. Just keep good records.

  1. Log in to your PayPal account.
  2. Click Activity at the top of the page.
  3. From the dropdown menu, select Refunds.
  4. Select the desired dates.
  5. Click View.
  6. Click Details next to the refund.

If you paid with your credit card, the money will go back to your card. (It can take up to 30 days for the refund to appear on your card statement.) If you paid with your PayPal balance or bank account, the money will be returned to your PayPal balance.

Pending: If your refund status is Pending, it means that the seller issued your refund but the money hasn't arrived from the bank yet. It usually takes 3-5 days for the money to arrive.

Refunded or Partially Refunded: If your refund status is Refunded or Partially Refunded, it means that the refund is complete. The money should be back in your PayPal balance or on your credit card.
Temporary hold: If your refund status is 'held', it means the transaction was refunded before it has cleared your bank. This process takes 3-5 business days to complete, and the refund will be credited to your balance once the process is completed.

I used the one on the disc, but it says invalid.


I'm assuming you're talking about the CD key you got with your operating system. If the seal wasn't broken when you purchased it, and the CD-key still didn't work, you can return the complete package to the retailer where you purchased it for an exchange or an in-store credit. But keep in mind that a lot of stores have no-refund policies for computer software with open packaging.

What you will need to do is scan the copy of the USPS receipt and then upload it into your Paypal dispute and explain that the seller refused the return of the item you bought. This will add merit to your case and you will receive a complete refund because Pyapal will reverse the transaction and credit your account. If you have to send the item again, send it with a signature confirmation so the seller won't be able to deny that he didn't receive your return.

if i follow you correctly the money went back to your credit card then to paypal again. if this is the case call your credit card company and ask them to do a chargeback. they will get your money back.

Proccessed incorrect amount on credit card


If you catch the error right after you run it, do a void rather than a credit. A credit could takes weeks to show up for a customer and they won't be happy with you.
