It's called an encoder strip...it goes through the back of the ink cartridge carrier and hooks on the frame.

Bad Printing and Stripes on Printed Sheets on HP 1100A

It isn't a fuzer problem it is most likly a image drum problem. To fix you have two choices replace the image drum with a oem part or a refurbished part or replace the printer. sometimes it is cheaper to get a replacement printer than to replace this part.

I have added a picture (done as a transparency) as my background on a calendar but when I print, the background picture does not print. How do I change this? Please help...Thanks a bunch!

You may have to adjust the transparency settings to see what the lowest limit your printer will print.
Try doing a test page with multiple images set at different levels to see which works the best.

Hi, I would like to print on Transparency paper, but it will not allow me, what am I doing incorrect please . does it go into the photo tray or paper Tray ? Regards Ellen

Hi

First of all, are you working with a laser printer or inkjet? if it is laser make sure that you have the correct transparency, IT MUST BE HEAT RESISTANT! if it is not,u'll end up buying a new fuser unit. then...

1. Put the transparency in your MP tray
2. When selecting "print" click on properties and select your MP tray as your source,
3. Select Transparency for you media type.

after doing this you will be able to print your transparencies.

I hope it helps
Kind regards

Epson artisan 800 wont print to a transparency

OK so i tricked my 810 into printing on a transparency. NOT that I recommend doing this ... but .... I took four pieces of clear tape and taped the top (where it goes into the printer) and on each side about three inches from the top.

Then I put it in the tray with the transparency on the bottom of the paper -- since it brings it up thru the printer and flips it over, it prints right onto the transparency !!!

It didn't like it the first time, since I just folded over the tape on the end that gets sucked into the printer first. Hence the added stabilizers on each side.

LOUD RACHETING NOISE AT BEGINNING AND END OF PRINTING

There is not a particular electronic component that would cause that. Cleaning depending on use should be done on a regular basis. There is one part though that looks like a transparent piece of film that is about 1/8 th to 1/4 of an inch wide that stretches across the length of the printer and is held by two springs and feeds through the printer carriage. This although looks transparent is what tells the printhead what position it is in. It will always start the print cycle from the left which is home position and then count spaces as it goes through its printing. This should be cleaned as well with a non-solvent solution, but these are also user replaceable and should be replaced from time to time as the print head actually wears it down over time and the hard to see position marks get faded. A electronic repair shop or on the internet should lead you to a good source for that part. Hp.com is a good place to start. The ratcheting action you describe is because the printhead is having a difficult time knowing which way to go. Good luck and hope this info helps.

Help me with Zebra TLP 2844

The printer only understands EPL code. (Eltron Programming Language) If you are trying to print text from DOS it wont understand (interpret) the txt codes.

To verify that the printer is working.

Open a DOS box, start the dos editor. Type Edit. Dos editor will open.

Type a single capital letter U. and print. Send to printer. The printer will print a configuration label.

EPL code to reset printer is

^default.

If you want to print a text file. use the Zebra Universal Driver. Zebra TLP2844. Open any windows application. E,G, Notepad. type text and send it to printer. Print as normal.

Toner Cartridge. 98% Odds

Two inch's is the width of the thing causing you problems that thing is probally the drum, sounds like it might of been light exposed, anyway replace toner cartridge..

. if you remove catridge and gently turn over and slide back a black cover in centre you will find the suspect drum.

by the gears on the edge you can turn turn it gently one way it and you can get messy if you turn it the wrong way, part of the surface will of lost its colour a little.
