Can't get your link to work. If you need a cross reference try of or if you want to have it repaired try their sister company is t.i.p.s. and the owner is very well known for quality work.

What causes the rf MOSFET to go on a cobra 200gtl

mosfets are seemingly very unstable the culprit probably is too high of dead key on the radio back it down a little and no there is no upgrade also on that radio if someone is real close to you and keys up it can give you what is called front end overload and it will have no receive and will require a trip to the cb shop to correct this problem also if you use the extra channels in it they are hard to understand just what channel you are actually on .........I had one of these radios and I did NOT like it or the cobra 150 . they seem to be very fragile radios............good luck !!!!!

800a4 stays in protect mode

Generally thats a sign of a shorted output device, either a bipolar transistor or mosfet. Also ground faults can trigger a protect light.

You will need a service manual to get the correct part number, I tried to cross with my NTE data base no luck, went into ebay site punched in the original numbers came up empty.

Is there a device that I can connect to my inverter to keep it from shutting down due to voltage spikes from the vehicle?

Short of shutting the inverter off momentarily, there is not a simple answer. because you could slightly modify the inverter's over voltage reference IC, but that requires knowledge of the inverter that the manufacturer does not want you to know normally.

if you are running the inverter off a second battery, you could isolate that second battery from the system through any number of time delay relays, time delay circuits comparable to intermittent wiper circuits.

However, if you are capable with a soldering iron, MOSFETs can be utilized as a voltage variable resistor. They can be in a parallel array to increase current. You need to know what current draw is by the inverter with the normal load.

Once you know that current, you can select a MOSFET of sufficient "Constant Current" or pair of them and wire them as "Voltage variable resistor."

The circuit actually does work, the resistor is adjusted until you aproach the "pinch off zone" and tweak it to the point you want to operate with. The MOSFETs will need to be on a heat sink, any you can even wire a switch across them to short across them to remove them from the circuit. The image only shows one MOSFET, but they can be operated in parallel for more current capactiy. Which why the constant current rating of the MOSFET needs to be known. The type of MOSFET is not critical, it can be a trench fet, hexfet, etc. You should plan for double the current draw in your MOSFET selection for purposes of a design centered value. You can use up to about 5 MOSFETs from that one pot. For extra margin in the design you could add 0.1 ohm (2 Watt) resistor in series with each MOSFET to balance current through the MOSFETS, although MOSFETS will self equalize to a point. When they heat up their internal resistance goes up so thermal runaway is not normally an issue.

I have a powercom (VGD 1000 VA)online UPS.All MOSFET (IRF 3710)had been shorted and DC fuse cutted off.I mounted all 6 mosfets and DC fuse.Display has been come and it gives out puts in AC mains but not in...

It sounds to me like you have a shorted cell in one of the batteries and the current limiting resistor on the charging side is out of tolerance (too low). Though it is more likely that they fail too high, they can go low in the event of overheating. I would check the resister with an ohm meter vs what is printed on it. It should usually be within 10 to 20% you can put one in series to limit the current, but you need a high current diode in parallel with it as no to limit the current to the inverter. I don't remember, but i think your model uses 2 12vdc batteries. You should replace all of its batteries and check the resister. Also, if there was a plastic insulator on the old mosfets you took off, you must have it on the new ones. this is to isolate the collector from ground. I home this helps,

Shut down

your convergence amps are bad they are the two large chips that are mounted to there own board they should read STK392-110 if you changed them already then in front of the two IC's you changed are several risesters you have to take an ohlm meter put the slector on the little horse shoe and then check each risester they should read 1.5 to 2.7 if you find one that reads nothing change it but change it with the same color risester.
