Question about Video Game Consoles & Games
System keeps freezing when I play games. iv already changed the hard drive, iv reformatted my hard drive because data became corrupt. iv tried a few other things too but it still freezes. its definitely not the games. what could it be? I don't have warranty now because my gran threw the box out which had the receipts in it. the ps3 is only a few months old.

Looks like you got the famous PS3 BD-drive failure. I would suggest
checking if the disks are spinning in the drive. To do that take a game
disc and insert it into the drive and check which way the image is
facing, and then eject it after a few moments, if the letters and
images face the same way, then the disc hasn't spun at all inside the
drive, so the drive motor is dead, i think you need to take it to one
of those ps3 repair shops
I think you need to send them off to sony for a new disc drive. It's a disc drive failure.if you use it a lot then you may have just worn it out. ialso advise that you call sony tech support just to verify that that is the problem. It'll be $150 for the repair but worth the fix if you use it so much time.

Do an liquid clean of the game. Clean with an glass cleaner or some solvent that will clean stuck on smudges. Make sure that the PS3 has adequate ventilation.
IF THIS HELPS PLEASE VOTE.....GOOD LUCK AND THANKS..

This is either a problem with misalignment and either the laser or the drive itself is at fault.
It might be worth disassembling the unit again - clean the laser with a Q-tip and isopropyl alcohol then reinstall the drive being sure that you have carefully followed the correct procedure.
See this link which is very useful to ensure you have done everything right.
In relation to the drive check this video to ensure the correct installation procedure has been followed.
Thanks for using FixYa.
