Tip

LAPTOP to TV Connection

Many people today want to connect their computer to a TV. Most HDTVs today have a VGA input for computer hookup. Most laptops also have a VGA output for external display. Using a male to male VGA cable, the computer can use a HDTV for a display. Sound is connected using a 3.5mm audio cable. See this web page for complete details.

The screen resolution setting determines how much information is displayed on the display screen. It is measured horizontally and vertically in pixels. At lower screen resolutions, such as 640 x 480, fewer items will fit on the screen, but they will be larger. At higher resolutions, such as 1600 x 1200, more items will fit on the screen but they will be smaller. The resolution options will vary with each computer based on the video card device, monitor size, and video & monitor drivers. If the screen looks distorted or fuzzy, then you may have an incorrect screen resolution size set for your monitor. In Windows you can change the screen resolution to match the TVs capabilities. How to connect laptop to external monitor

Your HP laptop should have a video out port somewhere - it might be a VGA or HDMI, see the manual for your laptop.
If you are lucky your Bush will have a matching connector
Buy a cable of the correct type to connect your laptop to the monitor. If the connectors 'match' this is easy, or else you will have to seek out adaptors/adaptor cables.
Use the cable connect the laptop to the monitor.

There is one more thing you have to do, and that is direct the laptop's video output to the correct output port. On my HP laptop, and a number of other laptops, there is function button for this: press it once and the screen will appear both on the monitor and the laptop, press it again and your laptop screen will go off but the picture will be displayed on the monitor, press it again and the picture will appear on your laptop's screen but not on the monitor

How do I decrease the width the size of my computer monitor?

Hi there,

Try 'right clicking' on the desktop area and select screen resolution, from here you are able to change the size of your display to match the screen (don't worry if you select one that is incorrect and can't click on it, it will automatically revert to the setting before).

Good luck.

My asus u30jc lcd was cracked, where can i buy for replacement

I take it that the Asus monitor external. You do not need to buy the same monitor unless that is what you like. You can buy any monitor that is external that will work with a lap top. You can plug The RCA cable into the lap top RCA port and it should show up.

As to where to buy? Amazon has monitor and searching for the ASUS U30JC finds that monitor for $69.99. But they do caution you to "Please match your original screen's BACKLIGHT TYPE, SIZE, and RESOLUTION before you purchase this item, because some laptop models come with more than one type of screens".

You should check you specifcations to make sure that the monitor matches so the computer will boot up the monitor.

Laptopscreen.com for $74.99 is another. You need to setup an another if you wish to buy from either one. You should, first, call some local electronic shops to see if they have one in house.

Also, if you buy the Amazon/Laptopscreen monitor you will have to have a computer expert exchange the broken monitor with the new one.

Good luck.

Depending upon your operating system: Right click on an open area of the background screen. The goto to settings or display settings.
