If you don't know then i suggest you don't,even after you unplug from the power outlet there are capacitors within the set that can remain charged for a long time and can deliver a nasty shock,One capacitor in particular on the power supply board can be rated at up to 400volts
so please don't risk it..

TV WONT STAY ON

Check your remote power button, make sure its not lose or faulty and turning your TV off for you. Also check the batteries, some times dying batteries cause small problems. Not very often but still a factor.

Now check your power button on the TV itself, make sure its not lose and causing the TV to turn off.

Also check your cables, and your power cord, make sure it is plugged in securely to a working power outlet.

Please use caution when dealing with power related tasks. As not to get electrocuted.

Green & red tint

Most likely nothing you can do to fix this. CRT TVs use 3 colors to make an image on the screen (Red, Green, and Blue). If you're only seeing red and green then chances are the blue has stopped working. You can replace certain parts in the TV but for a 27" TV you'll probably end up paying more for the repair than a new TV.

I don't recommend taking the cover off and trying to fix TV yourself without training. CRTs have a lot of electricity stored in them (even after turned off) and you could accidentally electrocute yourself.

TV won't turn on.

Stevenson

the fact that you got shock is because something is not right inside the tv. You need to have that tv check because a manufacturer will not fabricated a tv that can electrocute anyone, specially when you turn the volume. Static electricity is always present in front of any tv that might be the cause of why you got shock. By removing your coat, and touch some metallic object you may get electrocuted, because of static electricity. Please, I want you to have that tv check, I can check that tv for you. I felt something is wrong inside the tv, and something is loose inside like pennies and toys objects. That's my impression. My e-mail address Stevebuy31@hotmail.com

Weird sound coming from the inside

Hi,
TV needs some kind of service and dust inside to be removed.
Regarding sparks sound, it can be leakage of high voltage of Fly-back Transformer. Qualified tv technician can check and repair it as high voltage risk is involved here.
Thank you.

RCA TV 32V434T transformer?

When the HVT goes out, it will take the HORZ output, in short, you will hear a high pitch noise for a sec, when pluged in. As to your question, Its not a hard repair, however its not what I would call a begainer repair. This is what make the high voltage (about 32,000 volts) for you set to work. If you DO try it, becareful. And don't forget to change Horz output p# 274762. After changing the parts, unit will not run for more then 10 seconds. You have to use a volt meter and set the G2 for 290v, with no signal and blue screen. + or - 5 volts will cause unit to shut off.
