Question about Dishwashers

1 Answer

Hi, I'm having trouble with my maytag jetclean eq. I've removed everything down to what I think is the drain impeller and can't figure out how to remove what seems to be this last piece. Fwiw, the trouble is dishes are dirty/cloudy, soap dispenser is still half full, and there is an inch or two of water in the bottom, like it never fully drains.

The problem is not your dishwasher but your water actually. hard water is the reason for the cloudiness. www.dishwasherfilter.com makes a filter just for this problem. it fits right under the sink and is guaranteed to work. it is very affordable and you will be amazed how your dishes come out after the very first load.

You need to pull it out and use a wet and dry vacuum to remove any water. then check the hoses to the drain and the pump and its housing.

You have debris down in the pump area. To get to the problem you will work from inside the dish washer and start by removing the spray arm and then using torx driver you will need to remove upper components of the pump/motro assembly to get to the debris. good luck

I have the same dishwasher with the same problem, try pushing the delay/resume button, then the drain/off button. When the lights go off start your wash cycle.

Try pressing delay/resume then drain/off. In some cases you might need to do delay/resume then drain/off twice.

Maytag dishwashwer problem

hi try this In most dishwashers, the water pump is located under the lower sprayer arm. This component pumps the water through the dishwasher. The pump has two impellers, top and bottom. These, as well as other components, can become clogged with food or detergent. Here's how to disassemble the pump:
Step 1: Remove the cap that holds the sprayer arm on.
Step 2: Remove the sprayer arm, the screen, the pump housing, a bolt, the upper impeller, the food disposer blade, a spacer plate, the impeller hood, a flat plate, an O-ring, and the lower impeller. Lay the parts out in order as you disassemble them so that you'll be able to reassemble them properly.
Step 3: Clean the parts thoroughly with a mild detergent solution. If any parts are worn, replace them with new ones made for the dishwasher.
Step 4: Replace any seals, such as the O-ring or other washers, with new ones.
Step 5: Reassemble the pump, keeping the parts in order.
To reach the water pump, remove the sprayer arm and screen and then the pump housing. Remove the bolt, and the pump components can be disassembled.
On some dishwashers, the lower impeller serves as a drain pump. This type of system usually has a reversible motor; machines with nonreversible motors have drain valves, as detailed previously. If your machine possesses this impeller pump system, and the water will not drain from the dishwasher, clean the lower pump impeller. This may solve the problem. Otherwise, call a professional service person.

Maytag jetclean eq plus dishwasher: soap problem

This could be due to 2 problems: not enough water or water is not being pumped hard enough through the system. The 'not enough water' is easy to check - open the door in the middle of a wash cycle. If you have enough water (about 1" or more) then that is probably ok. The 'not pumping hard enough' could be as simple as plugged up filters and holes in the spray arms. Remove the racks and disassemble the lower spray arm and the filter assembly all the way down past the screen. Clean the arm holes, throughly clean the screen, clean everything. Pull the top spray arm and throughly clean the spray holes there. Put it all together and run a cycle. You should see a pronounced increase in the sound of the water spraying around. This should fix your problem - it did for me.

Diswasher motor making noise during wash cycle

It could be the impeller on the motor. The impeller fits over the shaft of the motor and might have split/broken up. That funny noise is probably the shaft spinning inside the damage impeller. Fortunately the impeler is fairly inexpensive and easy to replace. I believe there are one or two parts/covers to remove that are held in by a roughly half dozen torx screws.

Maytag dishwasher

Many dishwashers now have seperate drain and wash pumps. Often the wash motor stops because something is caoght in impeller. You need to remove lower wash arm then take of cover...should be torx head screws to get to impeller.
