Are you getting more than one error? Or just the update error? also, how are you getting the update to your system? If it's via flash drive, redownload it to the same flash drive and try again. I always let my system update via the internet, and have never had a problem such as this. If you are getting a message saying "Cannot process update" then your xbox has had a hardware failure. There is no easy fix for that, as it can be a multitude of reasons why it crashed. Hope for the best and try to reinstall the update. If you can, back up all your saves before attempting this.
I need more info... What is the operating system installed on your computer?
Have you every run Windows update recently?
Is this the first time you install this software?
Give me the brief description about your system's configuration.
There must be some error code/s with the "Access violation/denied...." if so, give me the full error message, there are several similar errors with similar codes, but the fixes and diagnostic measures are different...
You usually get a Comm error due to poor performance of your phone line. Check for any visible issues with the phone line. Check whether the jack is plugged in properly and the wire is not cut.
If you are sharing the phone line then check that any other devices are not interferrring in device's performance. Disconnect any other equipment on the telephone line, i.e. answering machine, modem, extra telephones, switching devices, adapters, etc. Make sure the telephone line is connected directly from the jack (socket) on the Brother machine labeled "Line" to the telephone wall jack (socket).
There may be a problem with the way the Brother machine is connected or you may have a bad telephone line. Try resending again. If the transmission is successful, the problem was created by the connection of the Brother machine and the other devices on the line. Reconnect the other pieces of equipment one at a time to see which is causing the problem. If the error continues to appear on the report, try connecting the Brother machine to a different telephone line or have the line checked by the telephone company.
The "sender's" fax machine is attempting to RECEIVE a fax. This happens because they don't have the document fully inserted into the scanner before dialing. (According to HP's error code listing for "comm error 242" - http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=buu02549) This is not a problem of a bad connection. Bad line condition codes are 223, 224 and most of the codes starting with 23.
