Question about Computers & Internet

2 Answers

I've replaced both the fuser unit and the fuser paper exit assembly, both with oem parts. It feeds one piece of paper and then folds and crumples at the paper exit point. I really like this printer because of the auto duplexing. Is it time to trash it? Thanks!

  • viska_ra Jun 14, 2009

I don't know why this showed up under webcams, but I don't know how to check if the roller tape is working right. Can someone help please?

  • viska_ra Jun 14, 2009

I can turn the roller if that's what you mean.

  • viska_ra Jun 14, 2009

Thanks so much for your clear, concise answer. It appears to be working now. I know who to ask in the future if I have additional issues.

Paper jam and crush usually happen because of the roller are jammed with bit of paper or dirt.
Open the printer door that allows you access to the printer ink cartridges or toner and look for any stuck paper. If the stuck paper is visible manually remove it. You have physically check for any blockage in the rollers, also clean the surface of the roller with cloth and little alcohol.
The roller should pull the paper properly through... that is what we want.

Let me know if you need more assistance
Thanks

Crease in paper when printing

Your information is a bit limited but we'll try anyway.
If the crease is a corner fold or a pressure line down the page, it will often be caused by something in the paper feed path close to the main drive bar in an inkjet or near the fuser in a laser printer. Have a look at the leading edge of the paper as it exits the printer for a nick or mark that may give a clue where to start looking. If there is a fold or crumple line down the length of the page, look at the paper pick up mechanism in an inkjet (usually the paper tray is a good start) or if it is a laser printer you should remove the fuser and check the fuser sleeve and pressure rollers. If you could let me know what the machine is and where the crease is I may be able to give better advice.

Second copy is crumpled

You need to isolated a problem.Verify the vertical conveyance feed and clean the feed rollers, verify the fusing unit and a duplex unit, and verify the exit unit.Stop the copy process before the paper enter in the fusing unit, and verify if the paper is crumpled or not.If is crumpled verify the paper tray rollers(casette feed rollers, vertical transport rollers). If not crumpled stop the proces after a half copy is out on the fusing unit.If crumpled change or clean the upper and lower fuser roller and the lower roller cleaning roller(aluminium roller)in the fusing unit.

The paper is crumpled in the lower part of the paper.

Maybe you have problems with the upper fuser roller, open the back door and try to see the upper fuser roller and lower pressure roller if you see any wrinkles or damage in any of the rollers that's is the problem, you can replace them just the upper fuser roller and the lower pressure roller but it will need advanced skills, the other option is change all fuser assembly but at higher price

We have a imagerunner 210s. we just replaced the fuser unit and now when you try to copy, it copies the original but when it feeds through the exit door, it jams and when you open the door, the paper is...

please to see the claws. they are 5 claws which pluged on exit unit.
if you open the cover exit you will see them.
the shape like as a tigers claw. but more like as triangle.
they are move by spring, you try to moving. what are they work well?
problem usually cause
- the spring was loose or (you can plug or replace the spring)
- the claws have broken or (you replace a new)
- the claws dirty by crust toner. (you can clean up by your finger or your claw)
good luck.

LEXMARK X342n error code 202.13

The exit sensor at the fuser is activated by a piece of media indicating. There is a piece of media in the machine during POST (Power-On Self Test).

Check for media in the exit of the fuser assembly or redrive assembly. Feed a sheet of paper, and if the same error occurs after clearing the fuser or the same error occurs when no media is present, check the exit sensor assembly.

How do you remove a paper jam at the site where the paper exits the printer (causing an accordian-style fold)

Turn off and unplug the machine you can open the front door open the exit side where the paper exits out gently remove paper the issue is caused by the upper fuser claws on the fuser unit they are worn you will need to replace them or replace the fuser unit assembly as other internal parts in the fuser may also be worn like the rollers
This should be done by a trained certified engineer

WHEN YOU TURN OF MACHINE MAKE SURE TO OPEN DOORS AND WAIT A FEW HOURS SO THE FUSER AREA CAN COOL DOWN CAUTION THE FUSER AREA IS VERY HOT

Paper Jam E2 error

On this model, the fuser assembley is mounted to the machine mounts, two of them inboard and outboard.
If the fuser gear is not cracked, this fuser is driven by the white small drive gear on the machine.
This rests close the drive gear. Sometimes you can hear a thumping noise which is coming from the gear skipping over the fuser gear.
This gear needs to be replaced a very involved service process.
Call Xerox for further repair if this is the case. Also behind this gear are many other gears that can cause this same problem. Very involved and time-extensive to repair even for a trained Xerox technition.

Paper folds and jams before

your description points to a fuser assembly problem which is right where you looked. I'm not sure what that plastic piece is from. if it is black, it probably came from the fuser. That is a replaceable part, but I'm not sure you can still purchase them from Xerox.

My copier makes a noisy sound

Check the crumpled paper. If it has an image, it has reached the drum and is crumpling at the fuser unit (part that gets hot). If that is the case the fuser gear and drive gear need to be replaced.
