Question about IBM ThinkPad R32 2658 Notebook
I have a Western Digital Passport drive that works fine on my Thinkpad T60 and T61. It used to work on this R32. Now it sometimes recognizes 'something' on the usb port but says it's usb 2 and can operate at higher performance so upgrade or move to usb 2. But never recognizes drive. The R32 only has usb 1 ports. The WD drive should still work but .... Whassup with that?
Western Digital Passports work perfectly on USB ports 2.0 that supplies 5v of electricity with a max of 500mA. If your computer was manufactured more than 5 years ago, it may be using the USB 1.1 which is slower than the current.
