Key wont turn or release the steering wheel

I'm not familiar with the Mercedes, but first of all, NEVER turn your wheels all the way, it'll cause damage sooner or later, you kind of found this out already. Next, try getting to the fuse center under the dash and probably under the hood of the car, check all your fuses with a digital volt meter, replace any that are bad.

Your last statement is "won't start" does the engine spin? or nothing at all happens when you turn the key? If your sure the battery connections are all tight and clean the next step I would do is plug an OBD II scanner in and get any codes that have popped up in your computer, if there aren't any, then my next suggestion would be to start checking into the ignition system, If you forced you key to turn in anyway when you had your wheels locked to the side, you could have damaged the electro-mechanical components in the steering column.

My key will not start my car...its in park and the steering wheel is in the lock position...and the head lights aer not working

Can you turn the key at all? If not, sometimes the steering wheel can be binding on the key release. Wiggle the steering wheel left and right while trying to turn the key. If it releases and the vehicle starts, you have corrected the issue. If you can turn the key and nothing happens, you say you headlights don't work....does anything else. You could have a dead (or very low) battery.

I have a ford focus 2003- today when I exited the car nothing was unusual..when I went to try to go to work the key will go in ignition but won't turn AT ALL. Anyone know what I can do to fix it?

your steering wheel has tension on it - are your front wheels parked against a curb or were you turning your steering wheel while you shut off the car? Try pulling hard left and turning the key. If that doesn't work, pull hard right while turning the key. You may have to pull really hard if you are a smaller person.

I put my key into the keyhole near the steering wheel so I could start the car, but for some reason my key won't turn, like it's stuck, what can I do to fix that?

Try moving your steering wheel to the left then jiggle the key until it releases, if no luck try the same thing moving the steering wheel to the right, or combination of both ways, If this works then there is nothing to worry about, it can happen almost to any vehicle, you are just in between the wheel locking mechanism and the ignition start or the removal of the key, a common problem in the design of the wheel lock, to prevent it from happening again, just have your steering wheel were you want it before starting or turning off you car. Steering wheel locked, cannot turn key to start, jiggling steering wheel not effective. turned battery on and off, inserted wd40, nothing works. help!!!

Try holding your steering wheel hard to the left as you try to turn the key. If this doesnt work try holding it to the right doing the same thing. Something happened to where the steering wheel lock engaged and that will prevent you from using the ignition key. Try this

Key wouldn't turn on 2002 ford explorer b/c steering wheel seemed to be locked up.

This is common, if the wheel was turning at the time of the key being turn off it will put preasure on the wheel lock pin, this causes the lock to be diffuclt to turn, what happens is the steering wheel has a plate inside column, this plate has a lot of slots going around it, so when you turn the key off a pin comes up and goes into one of the slots that algin over it and if the wheel turns back the slot hits the pin with enough force to hold it, so when you turnn the key the linkage pulls the pin down bbut if its held the pin wont move and key wont turn unless you move the wheel which in turn moves the lock wheel away from pin, nothing is wrong its just something that happens, hope this helps.

Transmission issue

turning the steering wheel lock to lock can NOT damage anything in the transmission but if you hold it for extended periods of time you can damage the power steering pump.
